Bruker Daltonics is searching for a seasoned Field Sales Representative to support Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry productions in Northern California.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meets or exceeds assigned territory sales target by maintaining & growing sales in current accounts, and identifying & closing business in new accounts.

  • Accurately forecasts prospects through sales cycle. Maintains balance & list of prospects that reflects sales targets. Interprets customer needs & identify BDAL solutions. Builds & articulates BDAL value proposition. Understands customer decision making process, and key decision makers & influencers.

  • Cultivates key accounts.

  • Provides sales territory information, forecasts, reports and other business data through the BDAL management structure.

  • Completes a business plan for the assigned territory detailing specific strategies and activities required to achieve goals.

  • Identifies & works with internal resources to enhance customer interaction through sales process.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Maintains & enhances sales skills through technical & sales training.

  • Develops & maintains territory database.

  • Maintains & enhances technical knowledge on BDAL products, company literature & information, and competition.

  • Maintains knowledge to discuss commercial contract terms.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree in chemistry/biochemistry, or equivalent scientific degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minimum of five years' sales experience in related industry, with demonstrated success, required.

  • Experience with Mass Spectrometry preferred

Computer Skills:

  • Essential to have experience with contact management database software, and MS Office. Must be able to learn new software packages; e.g. Adobe Acrobat.

  • It is desirable to have experience in Bruker software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must have & be able to maintain valid travel documentation.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communications skills needed to work with a wide variety of knowledge levels with customers of differing backgrounds, and within BDAL (e.g. management, service applications).

  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and organization skills.

  • Ability to decide priorities in a rapidly changing commercial environment.

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be able to maintain home office with telephone lines and computer connectivity. Must have flexibility, ability to prioritize and manage differing time constraints: time management is essential. In depth industry knowledge.

  • Self-motivation is essential as is a willingness to work with others toward a shared goal.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as extensive travel is required.

Responsibilities: Our Sales Representatives are expected to perform their responsibilities in generating sales, market share and profitability results for their assigned territory with appropriate direction. Accomplishment of sales objectives, to support attainment of district and regional/ business unit performance objectives is a key measurement for this position. * Development of market, customer, and industry knowledge along with further development of technical product knowledge is imperative. Effective utilization and management of internal and external resources is expected. Perform customer/consumer training meetings and support convention and professional association business building opportunities. * Maintains and utilizes expert product knowledge and highly effective selling skills in order to influence customers to support the use of BIAH promoted products. Executes brand strategies to ensure a consistent company sales and marketing message. Uses appropriate BIAH Sales Training techniques to facilitate the sale. * Utilizes CRM tools to create pre-call plans. Keeps current territory records concerning activities; communicates timely, accurately and meaningfully with Management. Utilizes CRM tool and supporting analysis to plan activity, report, monitor samples and maintain customer records * Analyzes territory information to optimize customer calls and create annual business plan for execution. Monitors market conditions for changes that impact our business. Completes objectives including achieving sales plan while operating within specified expense budget. Successfully completes all sales training requirements. * Works with thought leaders, innovators and advocates supporting BIAH products. Works with speakers, key opinion leaders, Speakers Bureau and Professional Service Veterinarians for given topics and products. Acts as a key liaison with local veterinary medical associations and other business and professional associations. Fosters ongoing trust within animal health community. * Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures. When violations are noted/observed they are to be immediately reported to management. Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain BIAH's excellent reputation within the animal health community and internally.
