Amphenol High Speed and Commercial Products Groups are the market leaders forhigh speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom andDiverse market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Ourproducts help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler forall the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Our global headquarters are located inNashua, NH and we have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally. Weare currently seeking a Field Sales Engineer to join our Data Center Sales teamin Santa Clara, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our customer's ultimate success depends on our ability to solve cutting edgeproblems in relation to high bandwidth signal transmission. We value ourrelationships with these companies, and we depend on our Sales and FieldApplications Engineering Teams to foster this ongoing partnership.

As a Sales Engineer you interface with our external customers and internalproduct development, product marketing, and application teams. Sell and promoteall Amphenol products within an assigned territory and defined accounts, eitherthrough WSP customers and/or distributors, via successful design win (AVL)activities and total channel management. Help devise strategies to differentiateour products and solutions from our competitors. Broaden customer base andincrease penetration at existing accounts, including key global accounts. Therole of Sales Engineer gives an excellent insight into the Sales, Marketing,Technical, and Product Development functions of the organization.

Provide sales leadership, and work closely with Field Applications Engineerand Business UnitsPromote and sell Amphenol products with established customers and developingnew prospects.Identify all interconnect opportunities/applications of Amphenol productsfor clients and work with the customers engineering team to design in newproductsDevelop and implement sales plan and growth strategy for territory andcustomersMeet and exceed strategic objectives and established sales quota via newdesign wins and management of the entire sales channelMotivate existing and potential customers to increase product content on thedesignSupport technical aspects of the sales cycle including marketing support forthe development and implementation of Amphenol productsProvide customer service to solve complex interconnect problems andtechnical inquiriesTrack orders and revenue by customerBuild rapport and provide customer support by supplying information relatedto samples, delivery dates, part drawings and specifications, quality issues,credit issues, etc.Develop a thorough understanding of the market and competition in yourterritory.Keep informed of new products and other general information of interest tocustomers.Travel required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with Business/Marketingaptitude or a Bachelor's in Business with work experience in a technical salesfieldKnowledge and understanding of interconnect solutions industry5+ years of field sales and applications experience, or related experience(inside sales or customer service with interconnect, passive, electromechanicalcomponents)Knowledge of international business practices a plus

Sales skills to successfully negotiate a technical design win, approvedvendor status, contracts, and customer partnership.Technically astute with an ability to acquire extensive product andapplication knowledge, with an ability to assess, and provide solutions for,customer design challenges/needsSelf-motivated and driven to identify, qualify and pursue new customers andnew marketsAbility to effectively communicate across the engineering and managerialfunctions of a businessStrong oral and written communications to provide high level customerservice and build relationshipsOrganizational skills to anticipate, prioritize, plan, organize to meet andexceed strategic objectivesLeadership skills to assess and drive new opportunities in a global accountenvironmentKnowledge of modeling tools Pro E or SolidworksProficiency with Microsoft Office products

The base salary range for this position is $91,800 - $174,240 USD annually. Indetermining rate of pay, Amphenol considers a variety of nondiscriminatoryfactors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant industryexperience, qualifications, skills, and education. It would be rare for anindividual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a given role. Basesalary is one facet of Amphenol's total rewards package which includesparticipation in our comprehensive benefits program with medical, dental, andvision benefits effective day 1, vacation, sick leave, personal days, paidholidays, life insurance, short/long term disability, and matching 401K. OurField Sales Engineers are also eligible to participate in an annual incentivebonus program and provided with a company vehicle.
