The Role

The sales enablement organization is seeking a highly motivated person to fill a sales enablement role to support our northern region. You will work as a business partner to the northern regions sales leadership and consult on the provision of sales and solutions training to the entire region, internal and external salesforce. The role will also involve the delivery of sales and pre-sales focused training, role-playing, event organization and content creation. The ideal candidate has a sales or re-sales background with and interest in new sales techniques and business practice. You have a flair for building relationships at all levels including senior sales management and across organizations. You have a proven track record of creating results through others in a matrix environment. This role reports to the Manager of Field Sales Enablement in the North.


  • Work with the regions sales management to deliver sales objectives by creating specific training development plans for the regions internal and external sales teams

  • Drive those training plans into the complete sales organization, working closely with the sales management team and HR

  • Responsible for the delivery of sales training; new hire onboarding, selling skills for inside and outside sales, account planning, acceleration training and entry level technical training

  • Conducts training in the classroom as well as through conference calls

  • Provide on-going consultation and coaching on selling skills

  • Engage with the sales leaders, business unit leaders, marketing and global sales training to ensure the coordination, organization and deployment of the required training for the sales teams Including:

  • product trainings, vendor led trainings, local trainings like consumer law, accidental damage protection, etc

  • Interlock with stakeholders to define development needs and to provide training updates

  • Training effectiveness performance review against KPIs

  • Maintain records of training to provide accurate information


  • Degree level education

  • Min 10 years of working experience preferably in a sales or pre-sales capacity

  • Consulting skills for the development of training and sales programs including:

  • Ability to design basic training modules

  • Needs assessment/ Diagnostic skills

  • Vendor research and evaluation skills

  • Facilitation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with software or solution sales to direct, global account and channel sales desirable

VIEW JOBS 8/20/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-18T00:00 Job Description Summary The US Service Enablement Manager will lead a technical and process-oriented team accountable for driving substantial improvements to field service and depot repair operations. A practical systems-level knowledge of BD Life Science products is required (hardware, applications, software) in order to drive programs that have a significant and positive impact on the customer experience. This individual will work closely with Global Service Engineering (SSS) and Field Service to ensure that New Product Introduction (NPI) programs are effectively deployed in the US region, and that ongoing success is realized with the support of existing systems, related to tools and troubleshooting optimization, PM effectivity, repair turnaround times, remote and proactive repair. At its core, this role will help assure continued technical and operational excellence through the execution of programs that have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and bottom-line financial performance, through variable cost savings. This individual will be the champion for streamlining NPI and sustain engineering activities across the BD Life Sciences, and will develop performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of Service processes and tools. This individual will also lead efforts to increase adoption and utilization of remote/predictive diagnostic applications, and will work collaboratively with Service Program Management to ensure key programs are completed on-time and within budget. This role will be hands-on in nature and is expected to drive the technical aspects of these improvement programs. Job Description Responsibilities: * Identify and lead continuous improvement efforts around Technical Service processes and procedures. Work with global Centers of Excellence (COE), US Service Managers and Quality & Compliance to implement and improve technical processes that directly impact response and repair times, variable cost and customer satisfaction. * Lead efforts designed to increase utilization of existing tools (ie, remote/predictive diagnosis and service). Identify novel technologies that have a direct, positive impact to internal and external customers. * Provide consultation to Service Training teams, to help optimize training courses for the US Field Service and Applications Teams. * Drive technical initiatives that have a direct and positive impact to Field Service Engineer (FSE) utilization, repair turnaround times, PM effectivity and FSE first-time fix rates. Recommend technical improvements to both tools and processes to achieve this. * Provide leadership to team accountable for authoring, editing and improving service procedures, that have a measurable impact to service operational improvements. * Work with global Centers of Excellence (COE), to ensure new products are deployed to the region effectively, providing input to training, documentation, tools and Design for Serviceability input. * Act as key liaison with global Centers of Excellence (COE) to ensure process and strategy alignment, effective communication and leverage on best practices. * Work in collaboration with internal customers, including Field Service and Technical Support, to receive Voice-of-Customer (VOC) input with regard to continuous improvement initiatives. * Ensure all service process are compliant and meet all business expectations. * Continuously benchmark key processes, applying a focus on market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for process improvement and differentiated services. Requirements: * BS, Engineering or Life Sciences. Advanced degree preferred. * 7+ years relevant (Services) experience within the Life Sciences or Medical Diagnostics industries. * Proven success leading technical and process continuous improvement initiatives with an Instrument Services organization in the Life Sciences or Medical Devices industries. * Extensive technical experience, particularly with the installation, operations, maintenance/repair of complex Life Sciences/Medical instrumentation. * Proven process management experience related to NPI deployment, field service and repair operations. * 20% travel required. Additional and Preferred Qualifications and Skills * Minimum of 2 years managerial experience within an instrument services organization preferred. * Six-sigma green/black belt highly recommended. * Experience with Cell Culture and/or Microbiology strongly preferred. * Experience working in a regulated, clinical environment strongly preferred. Adept with the authoring and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) within an Instrument Services function. * Highly proficient with remote diagnostics applications; strong working knowledge of computers, networking and instrument software. * Proficient with Business Information Systems (ie, SAP, SFDC), and with Microsoft Office suite. * Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision. * Demonstrates effective communication, and interpersonal skills, can work across multiple internal organizations and with customers across the United States Becton, Dickinson and Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
