Field Sales Agronomist (Work From Home) - Growmark FS, LLC - Sangerfield, NY

GROWMARK FS is headquartered in Milford, Delaware with branches in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. GROWMARK FS has about 500 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 13,000 customers.

The cooperative does business in seed, agronomy, energy, crop protection, precision agriculture, and custom application. GROWMARK FS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.

SALARY - $65,000 to $98,250

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, plans, directs and coordinates agronomic and technical services to field staff and customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Works with sales staff to provide comprehensive field training in agronomic and plant nutrition sciences.

Addresses agronomic challenges and recommends suggested changes in management practices.

Develops, implements and manages On Farm Discovery approach to providing hands on research regarding product performance and introduction of new products to GFS markets.

Experiments with new technology in order to develop new products that can be easily and practically introduced to grower/customers by field sales staff

Coaches GROWMARK FS sales staff on using technical information and specific in-field diagnostic techniques to support product sales.

Conducts meetings/workshops/field days for crops sales to provide technical training, in-field product comparisons and comparisons to competitive products.

Provides in-field agronomic consulting with GFS personnel and growers.

Provides technical information and conducts seminars for customers/growers in order to enhance their agronomic knowledge..

Coordinates with field staff regarding specific crop problems.

Contributes to newsletter focused on providing customers with current insight of crop challenges or management practice concerns. (e.g. Field by Field, Production Solutions)

Coordinates with GROWMARK's technical staff, and develops relationships with industry end-users, agricultural staff at local universities, extension offices and local government agricultural agencies.

Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a Bachelor's degree in agronomy, plant science, or related field or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of agricultural related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of truf production, scientific analysis, and the development of field trial comparisons.

Prefer and understanding of agriculture, plant nutrition, soil chemistry and plant pathology, as well as knowledge of scientific methods, field experimentation and best agricultural management practices.

Prefer and understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource management, leadership technique, production methods and coordination of people and resources.

Prefer and understandind of providing customer service including assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards and evaluation customer satisfaction.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Prefer an understanding and experience with the general ledger, financial reports, and business analysis information, etc. and the ability to develop processes and procedures to improve efficiencies.

Must have and maintain valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
