The Field Relief Manager is crucial to the sustained productivity of the company. A successful Field Relief Manager must be seasoned and experienced in retail sales, profit & loss, vendor relations, personnel, equipment, and time management, customer service, and more.

The Field Relief Manager will work closely with regional management to ensure that U-Haul Centers within that geographical area are provided with capable leadership and guidance to achieve and maximize established standards, sales goals, and profit objectives.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Relieve, fill in for, and assume the duties of U-Haul Center Managers, Area Field Managers, Traffic Control Managers, and Storage Managers throughout a designated area or region

  • Use discretion and independent judgment to apply existing and new U-Haul programs to standardize and systematize business operations

  • Perform various duties as assigned, including but not limited to profitable management, ordering products, correcting rental and retail inventories, setting up displays, distribution and promotion of U-Haul rental equipment, all according to U-Haul standards and procedures

  • Perform on-the-job reviews of center operations, area field routes and reservation management areas using appropriate tools prescribed by U-Haul

  • Correct noted deficiencies and make recommendations to leadership for review of operations and procedures

  • Reinforce company policies and procedures and ensure Team Members are proficiently trained to company standards

  • Monitor ordering and receiving procedures; verify timely completion and accuracy of any reports submitted to leadership

  • Follow up on assigned projects to ensure their timely completion

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of management experience in retail or other service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction

  • Previous management proficiency in high volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability

  • Strong ability to lead, development, and train staff for success

  • Ability to create and maintain a customer focused culture

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Vendor management and relations

  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record to operate a motor vehicle

  • Adhere to all local vehicular regulations while driving

Education/Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally)

  • Integrity and the ability to exercise sound judgment

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage a diverse workforce

  • Interpersonal and social skills

  • Managerial experience

  • Basic computer skills

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.

VIEW JOBS 11/7/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-05T00:00 T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons in August 2012. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work. Collaborates with RPM (Regional Project Manager) to establish project schedule and budget, and monitors progress in meeting schedule and budget requirements. Develops project documents, processes, and procedures required to support quality control and final project deliverables. Helps RPM and Resource Manager to determine number of hours required for successful completion of project tasks. Anticipates project staffing needs, identifies and interviews available personnel, and recommends staffing assignments in accordance with schedule requirements. Establishes a project safety plan and ensures that it is communicated to all employees on the job site. Actively promotes and supports safety policies and monitors the job site for good safety practices. Establishes site security measures and monitors site access by subcontractors and others. Chairs weekly job meetings; prepares and submits summary of project progress and pending issues to RPM. Submits monthly reports to client, and responds to client issues and expectations. Develops the pricing and negotiating of changes to the scope of work with the client and subcontractors. Reviews bid documents and assists with bidder solicitation activities. Documents and executes changes in scope of project. Anticipates problems and works with client, architects/engineers, subcontractors, field personnel and RPM to identify and implement corrective actions. Keeps client and RPM informed of the day-to-day activities of the project. Maintains accurate documentation of job progress through daily logs and other reports. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications: * - 4-year degree in an engineering or construction-related field or equivalent * 10+ years' related work experience, with at least 3 years in a project management role directly responsible for all aspects of construction, engineering, or self-perform installation projects, with proven track record of successful completion of contract deliverables * 4+ years experience working on construction installations/projects, preferably in an aviation environment * Experience working on Federal Government construction projects highly preferred * Knowledgeable on subcontract management, including project controls, configuration management, risk management, schedule and cost control * Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required PMP and/or CCM certification is preferred. * Must be able to meet customer security requirements.
