About Marin Municipal Water District
Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD) is located in Marin County, California, just over the Golden Gate Bridge, north of San Francisco. Marin County is a dynamic community of involved residents who enjoy a high quality of life marked by beautiful beaches, groves of redwoods and oaks, rolling foothills, and scenic valleys. Marin is a recreation destination for the entire Bay area and is known for its combination of rural and suburban lifestyles.
MMWD provides high-quality drinking water to approximately 190,000 residents and businesses in the central and southern portions of Marin County. MMWD owns and protects over 21,000 acres of pristine watershed lands that drain into its seven reservoirs located on Mt.
Tamalpais and in west Marin. MMWD's two water treatment plants and one finishing plant produce an average of 22 million gallons of water per day that are delivered to customers through 900+ miles of pipeline and 99 pumping stations.
The District employs 240 full time employees and is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. In addition to regular full time employees, MMWD also employs seasonal and summer positions in many of our departments. The District offers competitive benefits package for full time employees, and in certain circumstances, for temporary employees who are employed for more than six months.
Notification & Selection Process

This position is in the Records Department and will require field locating of MMWD underground pipelines and facilities using a Metro Tech 810 DX inductive locator. The work will be done in roadways and on steep slopes, which will require proper safety gear and safety practices.
In addition, this work will require the ability to interpret GIS mapping data and record drawings to properly identify the location of the underground water lines. Good communications skills are necessary in order to report and resolve discrepancies found in the field. Safety Boots required.
Work hours will be Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This position is for up to a six (6) month duration at the Corte Madera location. Anticipated Start Date: July 2021
Desired Background: Must be 18 years old or older.
Detail-oriented, Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows. Good organizational skills, data entry, GIS, basic understanding of electronics and knowledge of information technology (IT). Ability to work independently. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Must be a team player.
Due to the driving requirements of some positions, a DMV driving record is required if applicant moves forward in the process. See below for more information.

The selected candidate, upon acceptance of a conditional offer for District seasonal, temporary employment, will undergo a background check conducted by an outside agency and must take and pass a pre-employment/pre-duty medical exam and drug test. These assignments require driving.
A driving history from the DMV and possession of or ability to obtain a California driver's Class C license will be required as part of the background check. This position is temporary, seasonal and at-will.
