Provides administrative and clerical support to a funeral home, cemetery, crematory or a combination of these facilities. This is an opportunity to be a part of an integral project to digitize paper file records for our memorial park, and update property inventory into our customer software. You will also perform routine checks in the memorial park grounds. This position is designed to create space for you to learn and grow. Ideally, the right candidate will be with us for years to come as there is ample room for advancement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Entry, Document Scanning, and Document Verification, Interpreting Paper Records (70% of role)
Interment Verification Blind Checks (20% of role)
Backup for Reception Desk (10% of role)
Completes required permits and or certificates
Prepares marker monument placement paperwork
Orders office supplies
Assists Location Management, Sales, Family Service Counselors and payroll as needed
Communicates client family's needs promptly and accurately to the appropriate staff member
Conveys a sense of concern and empathy with client family members at all times
Responds to customer inquiries via telephone, internet and in person
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
Experience
1 - 2 years of experience in an office clerical or customer service capacity required
Experience working in a customer-focused and fast-paced professional environment required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of office equipment including computers, calculators, copiers, printers, and fax machines at a level consistent with experience
MS Office Suite experience preferred
Basic mathematics skills required
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
High level of compassion and integrity
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to lift up to 30lbs; stand and walk for periods of time; ability to work in varying temperatures outdoors for periods of time
Ability to operate a golf cart or learn to operate a golf cart
Must be able to work one weekend day per week. Full-Time work week set schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday (Sunday, Monday off) or Sunday-Thursday (Friday, Saturday off).
Compensation:
Salary: $16.50/hr.- $20.00/hr.
An individual's pay within the scale is based on several factors that may include one or more of the following: background, skills, relevant experience, performance, education and work location.
