Lumina Solar is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Field Operations Manager to join our successful and expanding team in Pennsylvania. Reporting to the Regional Director of Field Operations, the Field Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational effectiveness and excellence within our solar projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar industry operations and team management, along with a proven ability to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and performance.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee field crews, ensuring effective performance, adherence to project timelines, and strict compliance with all safety guidelines and protocols
Coordinate and order necessary equipment rentals to support project execution
Order specialty parts as required to support project needs
Lead daily morning huddles with all field team members to align on tasks and objectives
Ensure that field crews adhere to scheduled timelines and project deadlines
Collaborate with the Safety Director and Safety team to ensure all safety guidelines and requirements are thoroughly communicated to and understood by all team members
Conduct comprehensive project reviews, including pre-install reviews, to ensure readiness and compliance with specifications
Monitor and track residential service tickets, providing technical guidance and direction as necessary
Inspect all completed installations for quality and adherence to standards
Address and resolve technical questions, occasionally including weekends to ensure uninterrupted service
Review and close out all installations and service tickets in the appropriate applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Approve timesheets, monitor attendance, and track Paid Time Off (PTO) for all field personnel
Communicate promptly with relevant colleagues to address any challenges or issues that arise on-site
Assist with vehicle maintenance to ensure operational readiness and safety
Support in resolving any material or warehouse challenges that may impact field operations
Hire and terminate employees as necessary, maintaining a skilled and efficient team
Conduct performance reviews and hold regular meetings with personnel to provide feedback and support
Provide on-site and in-person training when necessary to ensure team competency and compliance with standards
Regularly communicate with the Regional Director of Field Operations regarding project forecasts, installation challenges, and personnel issues
Stay current with National Electrical Code (NEC) changes to ensure compliance and best practices
Experience Required:
Proven experience in operations and team management, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills
Prior experience in the solar industry is required
Extensive experience in electrical work
A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required
Open-minded with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges
Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks
Strong communication skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations effectively
Expertise in identifying and resolving technical issues that may arise during the installation, operation, or maintenance of solar systems
Excellent task prioritization skills, capable of managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Comprehensive working knowledge of NEC and OSHA codes
Highly disciplined, maintaining a consistently high level of work performance
