AHF is currently seeking a Fields Operations Intern to work part-time (10-15 hours per week) that will start on Monday, November 19, 2018 through April 26, 2019. This is a paid part-time internship.

A Field Operations Intern contributes to AHF's mission by being dynamic and driven in supporting field operations for the 2019 Florida AIDS Walk, the annual 5K walk raising funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS services throughout Florida.

Taking place on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019, this year's Florida AIDS Walk will again be presented by AHF Pharmacy and is a highly anticipated event aimed at increasing South Florida's awareness, prevention and treatment efforts against the spread of HIV.

As a Field Operations Intern, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Supporting awareness, recruitment and activation efforts for the 2019 Florida AIDS Walk, serving as a local contact for past and prospective participants, assisting AHF staff with administrative duties related to the Florida AIDS Walk (including donation processing), collateral distribution (posters, postcards, displays) in targeted South Florida communities, responding to e-mail inquiries and providing front-line support to prospective and registered participants, donors and supporters, and serving as a member of the on-site event team assisting with set-up, execution and tear down.

As the Internship nears the March 23rd event date, interns can expect to see their rolls increase with responsibility and management of multiple rolls in support of the event.

The Field Operations Intern adds consistent value to the Florida AIDS Walk Team by adapting to various situations with ease and by being flexible but most of all bring new and fresh ideas to the table to engage and support our local Florida Community.

Lauderdale Region November 26, 2018 March 23, 2019 Event 360 is seeking a dynamic and driven individual for a local Field Operations Coordinator position supporting the 2019 Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival, an annual 5K walk raising funds and awareness for the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Taking place on Saturday, March 23rd, this year's Florida AIDS Walk will be presented by AHF Pharmacy and is a highly anticipated event aimed at increasing South Florida's awareness, prevention and treatment efforts against the spread of HIV. The HIV/AIDS crisis is far from over, and South Florida is disproportionately affected with one of the highest rates of new HIV infections in the country. The Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival generates donations to provide financial support to 11 local HIV/AIDS service organizations providing care and services to the community, as well as implementing testing and education to prevent the likelihood of new infections in the future. The ideal candidate will be motivated, creative, outgoing and connected with the South Florida community. Demonstrated abilities in communications, marketing/sales, or fundraising, along with a passion for HIV/AIDS service work is critical. Individuals must be able to work integrally in supporting both Event 360 and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, and must be comfortable communicating with a variety of participants, donors and team leaders including corporate, religious, friend & family, and beneficiaries. Responsibilities (included, but not limited to): * Leading local recruitment and activation efforts for the 2019 Florida AIDS Walk * Serving as a local contact for past and prospective participants * Planning and executing targeted outreach and recruitment events including: * Conducting outreach to businesses, schools, churches and community organizations to form teams * Collateral distribution and guerilla marketing * Coordinating outreach efforts with AHF departments (testing, advocacy, etc.) * Coordinating PR efforts with AHF Communications Director * Assisting AHF staff with duties related to the Florida AIDS Walk including management of intern(s) * Working with returning and new key teams to promote team growth including beneficiaries, corporate teams, church teams, student group teams and community organization teams * Responding to e-mail inquiries and providing front-line support to prospective and registered participants, donors and supporters * Promoting fundraising goals and rewards for the Florida AIDS Walk * Executing early Check-In events * Serving as a key member of the on-site event team and assisting with set-up, event execution and tear down * Other projects and duties as assigned Qualifications: * Education: you have 2+ years of experience or have completed college-level coursework in a related field such as marketing, communications, sales, event management, non-profit administration, etc. (preferred, but not required) * You are computer-savvy: proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook; experience with Donor Drive or other constituent/event management software a plus. * You are a task master who thinks and behaves strategically: you're equally comfortable focusing on strategic planning as you are rolling up your sleeves and executing those; * You have extraordinary communication skills: you motivate people, inspire them to action, and respond to inquiries with top-level support. * You are great at public speaking and reading your audience. You are equally comfortable speaking to the Chairman of the Board, a bar patron, someone receiving an HIV test, etc. You naturally command an audience and find yourself making strangers into friends. * You are socially savvy and are comfortable creating and posting content to social media channels. * You are highly analytical and proactive: you assess when things could be better and bring creative solutions to the table. * You are not afraid of failure: you believe in trying new things, testing them out and making judgments from there. You are comfortable with a certain level of uncertainty. * You are a linchpin: you're not waiting for instructions, but instead, figuring out what to do; * You are a smart negotiator: you know how to create win-win situations for the project and client, as well as the community. * You know and love the South Florida community; a passion for HIV/AIDS service work is a huge asset. * You are smarter than your boss, and would not shy away from making improvements to the plans set before you.
