Field Marketing Director - Team Leader

Job Description:

The Crop Protection Products (CPP) Field Marketing Director Team Leader leads a team of field marketers who bring to life WinField United's pricing strategy at the local level. In addition, the team partners with procurement and sales leadership to leverage and align resources with opportunities. In addition, they advocate for the team cross functionally including coordination with procurement, finance, IT, agronomy and product development, etc.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned pricing professional whose experience and expertise can be leveraged to build organizational capabilities across the team.

Leads overall pricing execution (40%)

  • Ensures budgeted discounting levels are achieved

  • Approval of competitive allowance, special pricing and manual overrides within the pre-determined bounds (2nd level approver)

  • Responsible for competitive allowance accrual accuracy for the organization

  • Owns the execution of prepay programs within the pre-determined guidelines

  • Leverages customer/zone/region specific pricing methodologies as needed

  • Responsible for executing terms exception policy

  • Works with P&L marketing teams on national pricing decisions

Leads overall P&L reporting by region (20%):

Establishes, creates and deploys CPP sales and margin metrics for the regions:

  • Tracks and communicates the volume/margin targets for the regions

  • Communicates regional and company index status for regions and drives to achieve index goals

  • Leads process of informing and delivering KPI's and relevant budget information to the regional leaders

  • Works with P&L marketing teams on forecasting and annual planning

Leads overall competitive intelligence and communication (15%):

  • Provides structured competitive information back into marketing and sales leadership including trends related to business, competition and partners

  • Provides regional manufacturing intel up and down the channel and delivers tools and process to drive manufacturer indexing

  • Ensures updates from marketing and procurement on pricing, programs, supply, new products and other initiatives are communicated with the regions

Leverage Talent (15%)

  • Builds pricing skills and mindset of team

  • Ensures that the team's organizational structure and resources are optimized

  • Communicates to team and proactively shares business goals and objectives

  • Develops people by identifying rotational opportunities, creating development plans, providing regular informal and formal feedback, and engaging in employee performance calibration and succession planning

  • Coaches and provides feedback to effectively and constructively enable individuals to achieve high performance; proactively manages low performance on the team

Leads overall product fulfillment excellence (10%):

  • Executes AI loyalty strategy within regions

  • Executes fill programs within regions including early advantage and bulk fill

  • Executes allocation strategy for all regions including movement of product across RSD's and DSM's

  • Executes and tracks the return policy

  • Supports corporate functions in moving discontinued products in all regions

Experience Required:

  • BS/BA in business or agricultural field. MS or MBA a plus.

  • 10 or more years of pricing strategy, pricing execution, market analytics, and market positioning

  • Team leadership experience and ability to build, develop, and lead team members

  • Ability to champion critical business needs and experience in change management to inspire, delegate and oversee change initiatives

  • Ability to drive organizational priorities

  • Experience participating in and leading cross-functional teams

  • Ability to provide clear vision, direction and feedback

  • Ability to make timely decisions and communicate appropriately

  • Experience in increasing productivity and efficiency

  • Works well in group problem solving situations and has ability to develop alternative solutions

  • Maintains composure under pressure and keeps emotions under control and treats others with respect, courtesy and consideration

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Job Posting Title: Marketing Communications Manager, Crop Protection & Programs Job Description: This role partners with Marketing to plan and execute product category/market-level communication programs to achieve defined performance and sales objectives. This position provides execution oversight, including appropriate review and approval of all communication programs, ensuring compliance to communication objectives and brand guidelines. This position also ensures communication programs are continually measured and learning is used to improve plan performance. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing the communication budget and, working with the team to ensure the appropriate LOL systems and processes, getting projects funded and agencies/vendors paid. The ideal candidate has a passion for building brands and telling stories, strong curiosity and engagement in the world, embraces and drives change and builds genuine and authentic connections. Duty or Area of Responsibility / Percentage of Role * With Marketing and Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) leadership, participate in the development of brand strategy, including brand frameworks, customer journeys. They lead and own, the implementation and consistency of the brand guideline. (10%) * Lead the development of the communications and content strategy and big ideas, in collaboration with the agenc(ies) that will drive business growth. Continually refine strategies and ideas as new learning and opportunities present themselves. (20%) * Orchestrate and execute communication plan programs with appropriate internal and external partners, to deliver against brand and communication plan & strategy. Proactively work with our cross functional teams to understand the return on our marketing communications investments to and revise plans as needed. Communication programs include any/all of the following: advertising (digital, TV,print, social, point-of-sale, etc.), price promotion, influencer, PR, events, sampling,website, social media, email, direct mail, sales/broker/channel communication, etc. (50%) * Manage communication budgets, and the review/approval of financial commitments, using LOL systems (Fusion, Allocadia). (5%) * Provide outside-in view of emerging communication trends, championing for consideration and/or testing.
