Field Maintenance Welder

MPS Group Inc., has an immediate opening for a Field Maintenance Welder working onsite at Cleveland Cliffs.

$500.00 Signing Bonus

SUMMARY

The Millwright supports General Managers and/or all contacts at client locations by performing the following duties personally. Ensures that all duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with applicable environmental, health and safety, company and customer-applicable rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

• All duties outlined in Mill Wright responsibilities.

• Must be able to stick weld using 6010 & 7018 rod to repair infrastructure up to 1" thick.

• Read blueprints and fabricate parts from prints.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of all processes managed on the job site as well as all PPE, safety rules, policies and procedures to work at the designated plant location.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Ability to understand basic equipment operating instructions and safe work practices in written or verbal format. Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent or at least 2 to 3 years of Welding related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, interpret general and technical business procedures and customer requirements. Ability to effectively present information to managers, supervisor and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate general figures and amounts, such as proportions, percentage, area, and volume.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• No medical impairment that would prohibit extensive walking or standing (i.e. during inspections).

• Able to stand, kneel, bend and stoop as needed during inspections or while foot-printing containers or collection sites.

• Able to bend to reach with 6" of the ground.

• Able to climb stairs without difficulty.

• Occasionally, able to lift and/or carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance. No pushing or pulling over 50 lbs.

• Good vision and hearing.

• Drug free.

• No other physical impairments that would prevent the employee from performing the duties and responsibilities previously noted.

• Coordinate eye-hand movements.

• Use hands and fingers fully; reach for, manipulate, and feel objects; stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl Climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction); Stoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will primarily be performed in an Steel Manufacturing industrial plant setting, inside and out, to the extent requiring completion of essential duties.

TRAVEL

This position may require the employee to travel to other site locations to expedite certain essential duties.
