We're looking for a Field Inspector, to support inspections in the IP Fort Worth, Texas area.

The Opportunity:

The Field Inspector position requires high level technical knowledge, organizational skills, and a willingness to travel. Field Inspectors must have familiarity with class 8 trucks and trailers, and knowledge of construction and agricultural equipment is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, able to manage a heavy on-site workload with the many administrative tasks necessary to the position. As they are the face of the company, Field Inspectors must conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism at all times.

In this role you'll:

  • Schedules inspections with the equipment consignor.

  • Inspects construction, agricultural equipment, heavy highway and construction trucks to report the condition of major components and systems.

  • Measures undercarriages per guidelines and evaluates tires. Evaluates the electrical, hydraulic and mechanical components of equipment.

  • Completes inspection evaluation forms, takes pictures and oil samples, using an iPad to submit inspection for an internal quality control team to review.

  • Be willing to travel frequently, staying overnight Monday-Friday, depending on volume/locations.

  • Communicates effectively via email and phone with office staff regarding schedule and other details of the inspection process.

  • Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.

Here's what you bring:

  • High School Diploma required. College degree preferred.

  • 5-10 Years in a construction equipment environment.

  • Determines schedule of inspections based on: auction date, service level expectations, item preview time, other factors indicated by Sales.

  • Sets route to minimize travel time & travel cost, and to maximize inspection count.

  • Identify, communicate, and resolve quality control issues.

  • Actively compare inspection checklist photos with ratings and comments for accuracy and consistency.

This job will require you to:

  • Maintain a valid, clean driver's license.

  • Frequent travel within 250 mile radius and occasional travel to areas across the continental US.

  • Overnight stays as required.

  • Be willing to fly or drive significant distances over the course of each week.

The inspections division helps complete this mission by performing a variety of construction inspection duties including inspections of buildings, zoning compliance and electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems. With a staff of thirty-four employees, the inspections division inspects a diverse mix of commercial and residential projects for conformance to building codes and laws. Projects include single family homes, thirty story high-rise buildings, museums by world renowned architects, mixed-use developments and everything in-between. Staff is also encouraged to explore innovative alternative solutions to address code issues and serve our customers. The Department is seeking a Senior Combination Inspector and the ideal candidate will have strong skills in: * Interpreting regulations, laws and ordinances for purposes of inspections within established departmental guidelines. * Possess strong plan reading skills and the ability to make inspections. * Providing technical assistance regarding codes to the general and building contractors, architects, engineers and the general public. * Entering all inspection data into computer system using MS Office, Accela Automation, Accela Mobile Office and Adobe Acrobat. Updating and retrieving data to determine status of inspections and permits. * Plumbing practices or enforcement of plumbing codes including possession of a license issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners Required Qualifications: * HS Diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training in building construction or a related field * Three (3) years of experience in building inspection and/or construction related field. * Possession of a valid Texas driver's license at the time of hire. * Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate International Code Conference (ICC) certification as an International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) commercial or a residential inspector within six months of employment. * Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Texas Plumbing Inspector License within one year of employment. * Possession of, or ability to obtain, three (3) additional ICC certifications and/or State of Texas licenses in three (3) different trades within two and a half years of employment.
