Field Inspector

The Field Inspector is present on fiber optic construction projects to ensure that the fiber cable is being constructed properly and meeting the project requirements. The field staff will coordinate the various activities on the project and also take detailed field records of the installed fiber cable.

Responsibilities and Duties

• End-to-End Project ownership to include project kick off meeting with stakeholders, scheduling, scope and budget tracking, project management of internal and external team members.

• Orchestrate internal and external customer project communication dependencies, timeline, milestones, and progress.

• Knowledge of Fiber Engineering, Outside Plant, and field operations processes required for each project inclusive of budget, design, engineering, permitting, construction, splicing, and close out packages.

• Planning and organizing production schedules.

• Forecasting staffing needs to accomplish budgeted production.

• Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.

• Setting productivity goals for each construction team.

• Daily, weekly and monthly reporting for footage completed.

• Ensure adequate scheduling and staffing to achieve budgeted homes passed goal.

• Assessing project and resource requirements.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid Driver's license

• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

• Must be able to sit for periods of time and be able to perform physical activities such as bending, standing, climbing and walking in construction areas.

• Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines in accordance with company policy. Demonstrate dependability through good attendance, punctuality and adherence to timelines and schedules.

• Ability to work effectively as a team player and project a positive attitude. Able and willing to continue business skill development, training, and schooling as needed.
