Alyeska Builders is looking to add additional leaders to our team!

  • Field Foreman Position*

Currently hiring for a Foreman in remodel & insurance work. (Would work on and oversee various remodels, as well as insurance repair / rebuild work).

Typical day for foreman will be:

1 hour of office time in AM.

On-site at job sites for majority of the day. (This could be working with the crew, completing client walkthroughs, or meeting with trade partners).

End of day additional office time completing project logs, scheduling etc.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver's license.

  • No suspensions / revocations / major violations within 5 years.

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to organize a work schedule (team and trades).

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Strong math skills.

  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.

  • Good physical condition and stamina.

  • Ability to lead.

  • Positive work ethic.

TRAINING REQUIRED

(Company will provide access to all required training)

  • OSHA 10

  • CO+ BASICS TRAINING

  • CO+ LEVEL 2 TRAINING

  • CO+ FOREMAN TRAINING

  • DOT medical card

  • Cold climate training class.

POSITION JOB DUTIES

CREW SCHEDULING / TEAM OVERSIGHT

Produce work schedules based on crew availability, and project priorities.

Allocate and delegate responsibilities.

Monitor attendance of crew.

Mentor, manage, and train team members.

Peacefully resolve any emerging problems and issues. Reach out to HR when applicable to assist in conflict resolution.

SAFETY

Ensure adequate resources on each job to meet safety requirements, codes.

Ensure permits are filed in a timely manner for jobs overseen. Complete all needed inspections in a timely manner.

Reporting job site injuries to HR immediately.

QUALITY CONTROL

Develop and oversee quality standards on job sites.

Ensure job site is kept tidy throughout entire project.

COMMUNCATION, AND PROJECT ORGANIZATION

  • Client messaging for each job assigned.

  • Replying to client questions, comments, concerns.

  • Communication with vendors and trade partners.

  • Issuing change orders up to limit of authority. (This limit will be specified by office) Note that first (6) change orders must be issued under supervision of office staff. No time limit for these (6) change orders.

  • Coordinating with office for change orders needed above limit of authority.

  • Material takeoffs.

  • Submitting material orders.

  • Ensuring receipts are turned in daily.

  • Completing daily job report for projects being overseen. Reviewing crew member logs for action needed.

  • Completing daily job report for all trade partners, and deliveries.

  • Notifying clients and trade partners of delays experienced.

  • Posting, and updating schedule tasks throughout project.

  • Completing job site walk-throughs with homeowners.

  • Successfully completing phase checklists.

  • Post schedule for your team.

Note that a foreman should be able and willing to complete all tasks of positions below them. I.e. unloading material, completing work tasks onsite, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, etc.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Company work trucks for job sites. We discourage team members from driving their own vehicles to job sites.

SCHEDULE DETAILS

Our crew works year round - ability to work overtime is required.

Monday - Friday is standard, however, Saturdays are common based on project progress and team availability. Summer season and season end are most common for Saturday work, however, attempts to avoid them are made. Office closure is scheduled for all major holiday weekends and our team members rotate taking time off to enjoy our Alaskan summers!
