Field Experience Assistant

Office of Field Experiences

Primary Expectations

  • Assist the Director of Field Experiences in making and documenting field placements

  • Maintain correspondence with administrators in numerous schools and districts

  • Assist the Director of Field Experiences in organizing and implementing training for supervisors, candidates, and mentor teachers

  • Use multiple software applications to collect, organize, and disseminate information to relevant stakeholders

  • Assist with providing appropriate data to staff and faculty

  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with school districts, host teachers, and university supervisors

  • Develop and maintain effective methods for communicating information related to the Office of Field Experiences, including web pages, e-mail, and face-to-face meetings

  • Take initiative to identify and help resolve challenges that arise in the office

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

  • Successful work experience collecting, organizing, and distributing data

  • History of successful collaboration in a work environment

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft products, including Word and Excel (Testing must be completed by October 5th for full consideration, please see instructions below)

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Google products, including Documents, Sheets, and Forms

  • Evidence of ability to identify problems and show initiative in addressing those problems

  • Successful experience with learning new computer applications

  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
