As the demands on our Field Engineering organization grows, we are looking for an innovative Field Engineering Enablement Manager who can navigate the complexities of big-data/ML/AI landscape to build and scale world-class technical enablement programs.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent skills in instructional development and delivery as well as demonstrated experience with deploying training programs out to a fast-paced, rapidly growing technical organization. This job will require a unique combination of technical pre-sales knowledge, program management, creativity, leadership, and drive.
A successful Field Engineering Enablement Manager will ensure that Databricks' technical field teams have the knowledge, content, and tools to ramp quickly and maximize revenue, customer success, and adoption.
Shape the ongoing strategy and mission of the global Field Engineering training program.
Provide leadership and hands on support to capture the best practices executed by high performers, and scale these practices across the field engineering organization through documentation, enablement and communications.
Support technical enablement programs by authoring content, organizing enablement journeys, determining best enablement approaches, and delivering training and coaching across all delivery platforms - face-to-face workshops, eLearning, virtual workshops, lab exercises, presentations, self-service portal, all hands calls and newsletters.
Work with the global Field Engineering leadership team and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, effective training content in various regions and locales.
Be the technical and pre-sales expert supporting a cross-functional team (sales, salesops, pre-sales, post-sales) for all stages of the employment lifecycle including onboarding, ramp, work, and growth.
Organize technical content for company events such as Annual Technical Summit, Company Kickoff, and quarterly events.
Collaborate with engineering, customer success, support, and product management to keep up-to-date with a fast-evolving platform product and fast-growing company.
Experience designing and developing instructor-led content with technical subject matter content.
Experience with learning management and knowledge base systems.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent presentation and whiteboarding skills.
Customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role highly desired.
Knowledge designing and architect distributed data systems preferred.
Knowledge of Apache Spark or other distributed big data systems preferred.
Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Scala or Java.
Experience working with open source and/or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) preferred.
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant work experience preferred.
