ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a Field Engineer based out of West Orange, NJ for our installations team. This engineer will be responsible for installing and configuring data storage hardware equipment at various business sites across the United States, requiring 100% national travel.
THESE ARE THE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A FIELD ENGINEER:
Install and configure data storage hardware equipment at customer sites according to specifications and best practices
This includes tasks such as unboxing, lifting, racking/stacking, and configuration
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements
Schedule service calls and coordinate the delivery of parts
Travel frequently to local and national customer sites, often on short notice
Must be flexible and adaptable to changing schedules
Interact with IT customers and TSP technical team members, including presales, services and support organizations
Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance activities, and customer interactions
YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE EVERYTHING ABOVE BECAUSE YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE LIKE:
Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting data storage hardware preferred
Familiarity with various operating systems and networking protocols
Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a customer-centric approach
Degree in computer science, information technology or any technical field preferred
Must have extensive exposure to datacenter environments
A strong sense of urgency, time management and customer facing skills are required
Must have a solid understanding of Microsoft Outlook and demonstrate superb communication skills (phone/email/in-person)
Good job stability must be reflected on resume
Must be reliable, proactive and possess the ability to take ownership of multiple engagements
