SUMMARY

Global Technical Services LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Field Engineer Technician IV, to assist the 99th Readiness Division (RD) located in Meadville, PA. The Field Engineer Technician shall assist with the execution and implementation of a multi-faceted, comprehensive engineering base operations and sustainment program to ensure the buildings and grounds are properly monitored and maintained to meet the functional, appearance, safety, security and environmental standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facility inspections and checklists

  • Monitor physical and functional condition of building systems

  • Identify and report deficiencies

  • Planning, coordination and quality assurance requirements and specifications for service contract support of facility repairs

  • Coordinate and participate in occupational health and safety inspections

  • Prepare, review and submit energy efficiency and sustainable practices/recommendations

  • Promote energy conservation and awareness

  • Assist 99th RD Regional Facility Operations Specialist (RFOS) by maintaining contract and Government Purchas Card Files

  • Provide quality assurance inspection and oversight for maintenance and repair and document as required

  • Monitor facility systems

  • Assist 99th RD DPW implement corrective actions, repair and maintenance

  • Develop task and requirements statements and order of cost magnitude for Sustainment, Revitalization and Maintenance (SRM) projects

  • Ensure proper storage, usage and disposal and associate documentation of hazardous materials and hazardous waste

  • Monitoring and inspect life safety, physical security and fire prevention requirements

  • Address deficiencies if required.

  • Respond to all information requests

  • Attend Project Review Boards as requested

  • Documentation, checklists and reports

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three plus years experience;

  • Five plus years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Outlook

  • Current favorable National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI), in accordance with AR 380-67

  • Valid Drives License

  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with military personnel, management and fellow HQ Engineer Techs, Field Engineer Techs. and AFOS contractors

  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation

  • General office administrative and clerical skills to perform support duties and answer telephones

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure o electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.

The Medical Technologist 4 monitors; quality control, instrument function and maintenance, the accuracy and timeliness of test results, and performs laboratory tests within their assigned laboratory section. Procedure manuals are maintained in their area of responsibility. Enhanced decision making ability and the use of independent judgment are necessary. Each Medical Technology 4 is responsible for one of the following sections of the clinical laboratory; Urinalysis/serology/education, Chemistry/Special Chemistry, Hematology/coagulation, or Microbiology. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must qualify as a General Supervisor according to the CLIA requirements. General Supervisor must possess the minimum of a bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science or Medical Technology with at least one year of training and/or experience in high complexity testing or Associate Degree in a laboratory science or medical technology with at least two years training and/or experience in high complexity testing or Have previously qualified or could have qualifies as a general supervisor prior to 2/28/1992. Certification with ASCP, AMT, or another national registering body is preferred. Must be able to operate a variety of analytical instruments. Must be able to communicate and effectively exchange information with laboratory staff, nursing staff, physicians, physician office staff, patients, patients families, other customers and guests. Requires judgment including; prioritizing tasks according to medical urgency, efficiency and good guest relations skills. Requires the ability to guide and direct coworkers. JOB DUTIES: Each Medical Technologist IV directs a section of the laboratory. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Walking, bending, sitting, standing, talking, seeing, and hearing are required. Manual dexterity and the ability to organize time to handle large amounts of information and communications efficiently are also required. WORKING CONDITIONS: You may be exposed to potential hazards such as body fluids and other possible infectious material.
