The initial requirement for the role is the ability to work from heights with experience in rigging duties and maintenance of antenna and transmission systems. The applicant must demonstrate an aptitude to develop, but not necessarily in all areas listed as "where trained and competent" and work towards building their skill levels.

The successful applicant must be prepared to travel within the UK and stay away from home where and when required.

Hold a full valid driver's licence.

Your Role:

  • Microwave transmission operation and maintenance

  • MUX/DEMUX operation and maintenance

  • Rigging/climbing activities

  • Antenna replacement

  • Feeder/connector test and replacement

  • Microwave equipments replacement/re-pan

  • Structural Inspections

  • You'll respond to Network Incidents (once competent)

  • Partake in a 1 in 4 call out.

  • You'll complete planned maintenance procedures (Where trained & competent)

  • Site planned maintenance visual inspection and functional check

  • 17th Ed electrical inspections

  • Lightning Protection Inspections

  • Customer Control Room inspections

  • You'll provide TETRA BTS operation and maintenance (where trained & competent)

  • Capacity upgrades/downgrades

  • VSAT 1st and 2nd line maintenance (where trained & competent)

  • Mobile asset deployment and recovery (where trained & competent)

  • Mobile base station

  • VSAT equipment

  • Masts

Fluidigm is looking for a Field Service Engineer to deliver exceptional service across Fluidigm's portfolio of products in PCR-based microfluidic systems and rapidly growing Mass Cytometry systems, serving as the primary customer contact on technical and service related issues. He/she must be able to troubleshoot complex problems within an operational interplay of software, hardware, and chemistry. He/she must be committed to total customer satisfaction, with the ability to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and solid judgment. A team player is essential as this position will have a great degree of overlap with various interdisciplinary groups within the organization. This position is a field-based regional position, but travel throughout North America is to be expected. Description: * Perform installation, maintenance, and repair services on Fluidigm systems located at customer sites. * Troubleshoot instrument hardware and software, often under challenging conditions. * Contribute to high-value service related procedures and documents. * Identify areas for product and process improvement and communicate these accordingly. * Adopt and leverage our CRM business policies, procedures, and reporting. * 60% travel is routinely required on both a scheduled and unscheduled basis. Qualifications: * BS in Science or Engineering discipline with 4 years of industry experience in the service and/or support of analytical instruments and/or combination of experience and education/training * Technical support/service experience required. * Substantial working knowledge of optical, electrical and mechanical sub-systems. * Expertise in employing root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies. * Prior work with Life Science instrumentation, especially Mass Spectrometers is highly desirable. * / ServiceMax familiarity a plus. * Strong verbal communication skills Sounds good?
