JOB SUMMARY

Provide accurate, timely and reliable research and analysis of operations and recommendations for productivity improvements and cost reductions. Implement approved operation changes and conduct periodic reviews and audits for ensuring ongoing success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with managers on objectives and determination of issues.

  • Conduct research and analysis of operations for improved productivity and cost reductions.

  • Develop new processes and formulate recommendations to management.

  • Implement approved operation changes and provide follow up reviews and audits to ensure continued success.

  • Coordinate with team member on group projects. Develop project management skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering.

  • Experience in project management or the transportation industry.

  • Experience with SQL

  • Three (3) years' experience in industrial engineering or information systems.

  • Demonstrated statistical and analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50%.

  • Willingness to work nights and weekends, including working in extreme cold and hot temperatures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of PC and/or mainframe computer applications.

  • Transportation experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.

The Software Engineer II will be part of cross-functional teams tasked with applications development. Software Engineer II will adhere to MTM/Reveal architecture, data base design standards, user interface standards and coding standards and Agile methodology. Develops, maintains and provides technical expertise in order to transfer knowledge, and delivers knowledge transfer to appropriate personnel for skill development. In addition, the Software Engineer II must use their knowledge and understanding of software languages, data bases and interfaces across MTM/Reveal, involving any aspect of the MTM/Reveal portfolio of businesses. The Software Engineer II will be of cross-functional team in analyzing the information and prioritizing the requirements to gain understanding of the business needs and to provide recommended solutions. The ideal candidate for this position will have Web Development experience and be able to embrace new technologies and solutions. This position is located at our office in Overland Park, KS Responsibilities: * Develop timely and innovative solutions, with optimal use of technology and human resources * Develop software solutions that our business and Clients can trust * Develop self-service and web based application solutions * Work with business analysts and business partners to ensure fulfillment of application needs * Work with team to select the most effective and resilient methodology * Work with team to develop based on MTM/Reveal business requirement * Ensure proper adherence and demonstrate measurable results * Follow standards for operational data * Follow standards for application (language, documentation, performance, platform, code quality) * Work with 3rd party developers to ensure adherence * Conduct reporting and integration testing * Assist with material utilized for training purposes * Respond, address and resolve IssueTrak tickets in a detailed and professional manner * Actively listen and probe customers in a professional and timely manner to obtain further details and purpose of the issue reported.
