General Summary

This position is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and managing onsite construction engineering activities to ensure quality and cost effectiveness for the HWY 101 CMGC project in Carpinteria, CA.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the field engineering activities on Segment 4B $151M contract.

  • Manage job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.

  • Develop and maintain project schedule to ensure work is completed on time and under budget.

  • Manage project engineering assignments to ensure work is completed on time and under budget.

  • Manage project engineering activities to ensure compliance with company, contract and schedule requirements.

  • Provide technical support in construction planning, quality control, interpretation of design, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, and constructability reviews to ensure successful job completion.

  • Develop, implement and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents to ensure clarification of roles.

  • Represent company, project and/or department during client and project management meetings to ensure effective communication.

  • Develop and maintain all job reporting and logs to ensure project compliance.

  • Supervise, direct, and mentor project staff to ensure individual development and that project standards are met.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.

Work Experience

  • 4+ years of construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.

  • Advanced experience with civil, grading, and roadway operations.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AGTEK Take-off and Primavera Scheduling software.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc. plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines. #LI-ML1

Physical Demands

You will escalate unresolved issues as appropriate. This position is for on-site technician support at our client in Santa Barbara, CA. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.</p><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>50% of your time will perform intermediate to complex installation, maintenance, and change order services on NEC systems, applications, and associated equipment. Troubleshooting of NEC equipment and/or Telco circuits at customer locations. Taking corrective action and making changes/adjustments as required.</p></li><li><p>20% Lead or assist on projects, installations, and change orders, as directed. Work with management or project management on the coordination of logistics for large move/add/change services. Assist in providing innovative solutions to existing customer base. Perform basic VoIP network readiness assessments using appropriate software and equipment.</p></li><li><p>10% Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to other resources and to customers.</p></li><li><p>10% Provide sales support for surveys and meetings as directed by management.</p></li><li><p>10% Additional duties as required.
