Position: Field Engineer

Your planned career:

Working on-site at our client locations, the Field Engineer will be in a technical and operational support role, learning and using our equipment such as fracturing pumps, blenders, hydration units and working within the data van. The intent will be to use this role as a learning step to a Field Leader role, where you will gain the knowledge to manage multiple different crews, problem-solving and strategically planning our operations. Once promoted to a Field Leader position you will perform QC/QA daily while on shift, provide leadership from an operational, quality and safety standpoint, and provide clear and concise communication to the client. The Field Engineer role is a progression role where Engineers will develop their skill set to deliver quality operations, learning our equipment, attending substantial training and developing both technical and tactical skills needed for an HRO environment.

What you will do:

  • Understanding and completing job designs including fluids, proppant, volumes, and additives based on a basic open hole log review and/or pump schedules

  • Performing tasks with data acquisition software, hydraulic fracturing pumps, blenders, and hydration units

  • Providing on-site computer modeling and data acquisition software support

  • Performing net pressure, observed net pressure, and measured bottom hole pressure analysis

  • Understanding and monitoring pressure matching

  • Maintaining real-time mass balance data on proppant and fracturing additives

  • Preparing and distributing post job reports and post well hydraulic fracturing summaries

  • Performing tasks to ensure quality assurance of all on-site materials

  • Performing tasks to track material delivery rates for quality control

  • Communicating with on-site customers in a professional manner

  • Performing tasks for an on-site water analysis

  • Providing additional support for multiple fleets when needed

  • Rig up/down backside equipment as needed and learn how to run and troubleshoot

  • You will be required to learn the fracturing system, including field operation of designated Fracturing equipment

  • Attending all required on the job training, classroom-based and online training and working through your progression plans.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree required, Civil or Industrial Engineering/Science applicants are encouraged to apply

  • Experience in or knowledge of Process Engineering is a plus

  • Experience with process improvement techniques (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.)

  • Must have strong computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft products

  • Working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, technical skill, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

  • Must be able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and external contacts

  • Must be able to learn company-specific applications

  • Must have a satisfactory driving record

  • Willing to work flexible schedule and travel as needed

  • We are looking for candidates who are willing to relocate or rotate as required to one of our Districts

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ABILITIES

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is required to wear all proper personal protective equipment, and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the environment is moderate to loud.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, lift up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell; lift more than 100 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Schedule * Shifts times will vary * Works 40-65 hours a week * Home Daily - maily Local * Ocasionally you will be required to travel to Midland/Odessa, OKC, or other regional areas as needed. (Must be open to travel if needed ) Location Must live in San Antonio, TX or within 45 miles of the San Antonio metroplex; Local candidates only Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Knowledge of fueling equipment on Frac sites; work as team member to assist with customer fueling * Proper pre and post trip truck and trailer inspections * Safely drive loaded and empty tanker trucks of various sizes, makes/models, and configurations * Properly load and unload; handling, hooking, and unhooking hoses * Operating pumps and valves for loading and unloading, both on and off the truck * Safely fill tanks of all types and sizes using various size hoses, nozzles, and fittings; safely using pipe wrenches, crescent wrenches, hammers, and other hand tools * Accurately complete driver logs, pre and post trip forms, invoices, and other paperwork as required * Courteously work with bosses, dispatchers, fellow employees, and customers. * Some out of town travel required as needed Minimum Education and Experience: * High school diploma or GED * Class A/B CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements * Current 1 year DOT medical card * One year full time verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years * No more than one moving violation in last 3 years+ * Proficient in both spoken and written English * Able to apply basic math skills * Able to work in all weather conditions, willing to work long hours including day and night shifts * Able to drive truck off road, on roads that are narrow and have steep inclines; able to properly install tire chains in snowy, icy, and muddy conditions * Able to safely climb ladders and walk on top of truck tanks; able to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods; able to lift 50 to 100 lbs * Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and in truck driving test * Able to satisfactorily complete New Team Member Orientation (NTMO) * No sponsorship or relocation is available Working Conditions: * Extended schedule may be required as dictated by management and business need * Travel (to outside markets within the United States) may be required as dictated by management and business needsMay be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds * May be required to be exposed to extreme weather conditions (snow, ice, heat, winds) * May be required to drive for long periods of time * Remote locations Now that you have read the job description, below are the next steps!
