  • Maintain the infrastructure and integrity of customers systems
  • Serve as escalation point for solving technical problems and issues, primarily on-site, but also remote.
  • Serve as a resource on technical projects
  • Exercises independent judgment in the interest of the company as a substantial part of the work day
  • Analyze customer needs and implement solutions to meet those needs while understanding customer constraints
  • Possess and maintain basic knowledge of network and server environments including (but not limited to) Server Operating Systems, Virtualization Technology, E-Mail platforms, Cloud Services, Networking and Security.
  • Perform administrative duties including but not limited to logging hours, maintaining customer documentation, and using company-approved data entry system.
  • Communicate with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
  • Exercises independent judgment in the interest of the company as a substantial part of the work day
  • Provide input on technical processes for internal and external use
  • Obtain training and certifications to further goals of self and the company.
  • Provide ideas/insights as to new products or services that the company can offer its clients.
  • Perform after hours customer support as required.


  • Three or more years in a technical support role
  • Experience with Active Directory administration
  • Experience with current Microsoft desktop OS & apps
  • Experience with basic switching and routing configurations
  • Exposure to Windows server operating systems
  • Professional Certification (A+, MCP, Network+, Security+)
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills including the ability to ask relevant questions, effectively listen, provide information, and collaborate with others in a positive way
  • Take ownership and follow-through on responsibilities
  • Ability to quickly analyze a situation and follow a systematic approach to problem resolution.
  • Ability to manage time and multiple tasks/priorities.
  • Ability to learn new procedures and concepts and apply them quickly and effectively.

External applicants must be eligible to work in the US.</p><p>Your Role:</p><p>At MilliporeSigma, the Field Service Engineer (FSE) will be responsible for the installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and qualification of water purification systems throughout the Corpus Christi Texas Metro area primarily and in the valley. You will also be responsible to provide backup support to neighboring territories as required.</p><p>Role Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Install, repair, preventative maintenance, and qualification of water purification systems.</p></li><li><p>Provide professional service on a timely basis.</p></li><li><p>Complete PMs monthly and complete installs within two weeks.</p></li><li><p>Repair as requested by customer.</p></li><li><p>Respect all customer on-site rules and regulations including good on-site housekeeping practices.</p></li><li><p>Perform system validations/qualifications with response times from 24 hours and up to two weeks</p></li><li><p>Accurate and detailed completion of Work Orders and related documentation.</p></li><li><p>Close work orders daily.</p></li><li><p>Provide customers with appropriate documentation of work completed, including but not limited to: Service Report, Meter Verification Report, Routine Maintenance, etc.</p></li><li><p>Maintain an accurate daily schedule for internal visibility.</p></li><li><p>Communicate to customers ahead of time and adapt to repairs.</p></li><li><p>Notify Manager when schedule is impacting customer satisfaction and/or unable to complete work in requested time frame.</p></li><li><p>Maintain physical consignment inventory in accordance with SOP (within suggestion value limits and maintain accuracy compared to actual and documented inventory).</p></li><li><p>Maintain tools and test equipment in proper working order and calibration.</p></li><li><p>Generate leads for new hardware, consumables, accessories and service contracts via the current CRM tool.</p></li><li><p>Maintain timely, courteous, effective and professional communications between all customers, internal and external.</p></li><li><p>Be available for possible emergency responses could require a 2hr callback window requiring maximum of 24-hour on-site response time.</p></li><li><p>Assist with custom engineered system installations with support of the Supervisor, Manager, and/or Custom Systems Team.</p></li><li><p>Submit expense reports every two weeks.</p></li><li><p>Meet customer site requirements including, but not limited to: vendor credentialing, background checks, and immunization requirements as needed.</p></li></ul><p>Who you are:</p><p>Minimum Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Associate's Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering OR any relevant Technical, Professional or Military Electronics degree</li><li><ul><li>OR -</li></ul></li><li>1+ years of field service experience OR 1+ years experience in other relevant applicable skilled trades.</li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Electronics background a plus.</p></li><li><p>Overnight travel as required, both domestic and international. Amount of travel depends on territory (10-60%), training, team meetings and coverage/support for other territories.
