Working on-site at our client locations, the Field Engineer will be in a technical and operational role, learning and using our equipment. The intent will be to use this role as a learning step to a Field Leader role, where you will gain the knowledge to manage multiple different crews, problem-solving and strategically planning our operations. Once promoted to a Field Leader position you will perform QC/QA daily while on shift, provide leadership from an operational, quality and safety standpoint, and provide clear and concise communication to the client. The Field Engineer role is a progression role where Engineers will develop their skill set to deliver quality operations, learning our equipment, attending substantial training and developing both technical and tactical skills needed for an HRO environment.

What you will do:

  • Understanding and assisting in job designs, job design and job execution for cementing applications.

  • Performing tasks with data acquisition software

  • Providing on-site computer modeling and data acquisition software support

  • Build knowledge of all cement mixing and pumping equipment

  • Gain the subject matter expertise on our cement chemicals and additives

  • Understanding and monitoring pressure matching

  • Preparing and distributing post job reports and invoicing

  • Performing tasks to ensure quality assurance of all on-site materials

  • Performing tasks to track material delivery rates for quality control and on-site inventory management

  • Responsible for all on-site sampling

  • Communicating with on-site customers in a professional manner

  • Providing additional support for multiple crews

  • Perform all required job calculations for all cement jobs

  • Rig up/down backside equipment as needed and learn how to run and troubleshoot

  • Travel to and from well site to assist in performing engineering functions.

  • Attending all required on the job training, classroom-based and online training and working through your progression plans.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering/Science preferred

  • Experience in or knowledge of Process Engineering is a plus

  • Experience with process improvement techniques (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.)

  • Must have strong computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft products

  • Working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, technical skill, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

  • Must be able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and external contacts

  • Must be able to learn company-specific applications

  • Must have a satisfactory driving record

  • Willing to work flexible schedule and travel as needed

Key Duties/Accountabilities: * Perform in four or more of the following areas: * Field Testing * Mechanical Maintenance of AC/DC Motors * Electrical Maintenance of AC/DC Motors * Crane Inspections and Maintenance * Control Troubleshooting and Repair * VFD Service and Troubleshooting * Predictive Maintenance * Breaker Repair and Switchgear Maintenance * Relay Testing and Calibration * Mechanical Repair (Turbine, Gearbox, Pump) * Compressor Service and Repair * Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical applications. * Work overtime and weekends, when necessary, to meet the demand of the customer and/or the company workload. * Travel to complete work at customer site, as required. * Train in additional areas in which not yet fully qualified under the instruction of a Manager or Supervisor. * Provide guidance to new shop-service technicians that are unfamiliar with the work process. * Ensure that all tasks are performed utilizing all necessary procedures, work instructions, safety procedures and equipment. * Keep work areas in a clean and orderly manner. * Maintain a professional attitude when representing the company during phone, or personal contact with customers, outside vendors, and/or service providers, etc. * Document/report all customer complaints to quality department. Make every effort within your sphere of influence to resolve the complaint immediately. * Advocate and follow all quality, safety and environmental procedures and report any and all noncompliance. * Provide support for any special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager. These special projects, at the determination of management, may or may not become part of your primary responsibilities. * Promote continuous improvement (i.e.: employee suggestions, procedural enhancement, etc.). Measures of Success: * Production efficiencies; i.e. low rework, warranty costs work completed at/or under estimated hours. * Customer satisfaction. * Meeting or exceeding customer demand/delivery. Recommended Position Requirements: This position requires an individual experienced at repairing and/or servicing electrical/mechanical apparatus. To be considered, a candidate must possess a working knowledge of at least four of the work areas listed above (See Key Duties/Accountability). Experience with computer applications. The position demands an individual who is hard working, detail oriented, thorough and able to work overtime and weekends, as needed, to meet company and customer demands. Team skills are also desirable, as some development and ongoing projects involve teams of individuals from different backgrounds within the organization.
