Job Description:
SUMMARYThe primary purpose of this position is to troubleshoot, install, maintain and support store computer systems and electronic equipment so as to maximize the ability of store operations to properly service customers. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid's brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: * Troubleshoot and install store computer systems and electronic equipment within the designated geographical area, as well as other geographical areas when required, as dispatched via the Retail Automated Customer Service (RACS) system, to include: travel to and between stores, logging, updating and closing service tickets, and resolving hardware and software issues within stated Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Systems include but are not limited to: front end, pharmacy, photo, security, and network applications * Maintain a sufficient inventory of replacement and spare parts for adequate service of store and field equipment, to resolve hardware issues quickly and maximize the ability for stores to service their customers. Inventory and maintain the accuracy of the computer assets in designated stores and spare parts stock via the asset tracking system, to satisfy the requirements of the auditing department. This also minimizes the duration of the impact to stores in support of our external customers * Schedule and complete preventative maintenance on computer systems and peripherals, reducing equipment downtime for store operations and mean time between failures (MTBF). Preventative maintenance will reduce future failure of devices which can negatively impact the Company's bottom line. * Assemble, install, test and ensure the reliability of front end and pharmacy computer systems and electronic equipment for new, relocated, acquired, and remodelled store and field office locations, to maximize customer service during and after such activities * Perform administrative and maintenance functions, including but not limited to, email and phone communication, expense reimbursement reports, and regular vehicle maintenance service * Interact with Field Systems Support to improve the level of service to stores; interact with store associates to provide guidance and training, enhancing their understanding of store software and hardware. This interaction will positively impact teaming for future joint activities and assist store personnel in reacting correctly to future computer related issuesExperience / Requirements*
  • One (1) year of experience in computer installation required * One (1) year of experience in troubleshooting computer hardware and software required * Or equivalent education in lieu of experienceEducation*
  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required * One Year Certificate from College or Tech School Computer Technology preferred * Associate's Degree (AA) Computer Technology preferred

Samplers/Field Technicians work largely in the field, driving to customer sites, and working directly with clients to collect the samples. Samplers/Field Technicians will report to the lab at the beginning and end of each shift to receive instructions and drop off samples. Samplers/Field Technicians establish the chain of custody of products sampled between the customer and the laboratory, and ensure the sampling takes place using appropriate methods, clean tools and protective wear. Samplers/Field Technicians are also responsible for developing positive customer relationships and collecting payments from customers. Duties and Responsibilities Sample Collection: * Randomly select samples for testing using the appropriate procedures * Document sample and client information * Maintain proper chain of custody of the samples from the client to the laboratory Customer Relations: * Contact clients in conjunction with the Client Service Representative(s) to determine their sampling needs to create a sampling plan (e.g.# of batches, requested analyses, sample information) and schedule sample collection * Make decisions on the condition of the product and advise the client if their product is ready to be sampled * Collect payments from clients * Along with the Client Service Representative, maintain/enhance customer relations Other Duties: * Coordinate intake activities with Client Services Representative(s) and Laboratory Director(s) * Perform other duties as requested This Job Description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice Qualifications * Must be over 25 years old * Completion of 2 years of college coursework preferred * Successful completion of required Sampler/Field Technician training and demonstrated understanding (DOC) prior to active sampling required. * Excellent driving record required. * Excellent customer relationship management skills required. * Industry connections are a plus. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Proficiency with Microsoft Suite preferred * Ability to demonstrate teamwork and collaborate effectively on projects and tasks with supervisor and co-workers * Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to gather information and develop solutions * Demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and dependability toward assigned tasks and duties * Ability to demonstrate professional, positive attitude toward assigned tasks, projects and colleagues * Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task, effectively manage changing priorities and remain calm under pressure * Accredited laboratory environment requires strict adherence to safety and Quality Assurance protocols. * Facility with office and laboratory computer equipment and applications required * 3 years outside sales experience a plus * Valid Driver's License, proof of insurance and clean driving record required * Background and MVR Check Required Working Conditions and Physical Requirements This job operates in a professional Office / Laboratory environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, electronic notepads and various software programs. Sufficient motor function to perform a variety of routine sampling activities, move freely and safely from one location to another in the laboratory or in the field; sufficient upper body muscle coordination to collect appropriate clinical specimens safely and accurately; dexterity to manipulate tools, instruments, and small equipment, including keyboards or other data input tools in a manner consistent with standards of laboratory practice; lift and move objects of at least 20 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to drive; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to occasionally lift sales & marketing, supplies and sampling materials of at least 20 pounds. Working environment can be indoor or outdoor. This job may include some extended work hours or weekend work during harvest and other busy seasons. Requires work in a laboratory environment with some exposure to noxious fumes. May require long periods of standing and driving. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Hours of work days are 24/7. Client service personnel will set meeting with clients using their discretion but can and mostly like will include late evenings, weekends and holidays.
