The Field Applications Technical Project Manager (Automation Consulting Engineer) supports the Sales Representatives in customer calls and during product demonstrations. Other responsibilities include determining system configurations and proposals, collection of information for Sales Support Requests.
This position can be located in Philadelphia, PA, Wilimington, DE, Baltimore, MD, or the Washington DC area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Support the Sales Team by aiding in the following aspects (not limited to):
Discussing project needs with prospective customers.
Creation and following through of in-house quote requests (SK documentation).
Creating and configuring system proposals for the customers.
Product and software demonstrations for prospective customers.
Preparing sales presentations.
Attending trade shows.
Creation and issuance of quotes for smaller system upgrades and post installation support needs.
Acts as a technical resource to the Applications team.
Acts as a liaison between Hamilton project teams and the customer post PO.
Responsible for the completion of System URS documentation. (Does not necessarily write URS document).
Communicates URS to in-house APE team and field based Applications team.
Oversees the creation of FAT and SAT documentation for systems in L2/L3 support process.
Oversees the APE process with respect to system readiness for FAT or shipment to the field.
Attends system FAT when available.
Oversees in pre-SAT readiness of system at customer site when available and communicates system issues back to the in-house project team.
Oversees and drives SAT acceptance.
Communicates field and customer needs to in-house project teams and management structure to ensure SAT completion and post SAT support.
Each Automation Consulting Engineer will be utilized within a specific geographic region.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in science preferably Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field.
Applications Development Experience with capital scientific equipment, specifically experience in programming and related data handling required for large/complex integrated systems is required.
Must have good written and verbal skills including group presentation experience. Needs to clearly communicate technical and nontechnical concepts in a group setting.
Previous Hamilton Robotics Applications Engineering experience is preferable.
Experience taking scientific bench protocols from the bench to the robot is required.
Up to 50-60% travel including overnight travel.
