Kyocera International, Inc.'s Display Division has an opening in our Plymouth, MI facility for a Field Applications Engineer!
This person will provide technical support for the Display sales team. They will communicate directly with customers and vendors in order to provide display solutions and value-add modifications. They will also assist with the resolution of performance and quality issues and technical training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides technical support to internal and external customers as needed.
Prepares and gives presentations on technology, engineering solutions, and design options to internal and external customers.
Develops plans in conjunction with sales, marketing, and manufacturing.
Provides technical expertise for assigned technologies as defined in the technology data system.
Creates specifications/drawings of customer requirements for vendors (including parent company).
Maintains liaison with manufacturing, product development and product marketing groups to assure latest technology is utilized throughout the organization.
Reviews and demonstrates understanding of complete product design for each program to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Ensures all technical milestones are agreed upon and met.
Formally documents and reports overview of operations, field issues, and technical sales opportunities.
Advises manufacturing of technical requirements and trends observed in the marketplace.
Travel may be required, both domestic and international.
All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Five year technical degree (I.E. bachelors) or equivalent experience required in such fields such as engineering, science, computer engineering, etc, plus 3 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; Ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
BS Degree in an Engineering discipline.
Minimum of 3 years Engineering experience. Strong technical product knowledge and industry expertise.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple programs simultaneously.
Ability to troubleshoot electronic components and utilize test equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Excellent presentation skills.
Knowledge of the product line and manufacturing processes in order to train sales and customers.

Intermediate: Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Presentation/PowerPoint, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing

ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE SKILLS
Computer literacy required. CAD skills a plus. Must be able to read and understand digital device specifications.
