Position Summary:
We are currently seeking an outstanding Field Applications Scientist based in the Southeast area to provide exceptional sales and customer support for our revolutionary protein analysis instrumentation. The candidate will be a key member of a team of Field Applications Scientists, responsible for providing pre- and post-sales assay development and technical support for several product families. A strong background in immunoassays/proteomics is needed, along with the ability to communicate technical information to varied scientific audiences. The ideal candidate is an energetic, dependable and enthusiastic team-player, who's savvy about innovative technology.Ideally, this candidate will be located in or near to Raleigh NC, Atlanta GA, or Orlando FL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Empower scientists by training on instrument use, assay development and data analysis for Protein Simple's Simple Western, Simple Plex and Biologics instruments and software * Develop and nurture positive relationships with customers in assigned territory * Foster increased product usage; support sales efforts through technical presentations and product demonstrations * Accompany Sales Representatives in customer laboratories to provide technical and applications assistance * Provide post-sales assay development and troubleshooting support for customers in-person, via phone and email * Travel to customer laboratories to provide support * Contribute customer feedback to marketing, product development and software teams * Assist in creation and review of technical literature and training resources * Create and maintain customer support information using our CRM (SalesForce)* Communicate effectively with customers and team membersQualificationsEducation and Experience:*
  • Minimum BS/BA degree in biochemistry, bioengineering, pharmaceutical sciences, biology or a related life science field. MS/PhD and Field Applications Scientist experience is preferred. * Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with immunoassays and protein characterization assays is required * Strong understanding of various protein analysis techniques including western blots, Luminex, ELISA, FACS, capillary electrophoresis is desired * Substantial knowledge of current scientific literature and life science methods and applications * Proven record working efficiently both in a team environment and independently is required; previous experience providing Field Applications/Technical support is a plus * Ability to multi-task and prioritize is required * Excellent time management, organizational, verbal and written communication skills * Experience in training and teachingAbility to travel 50% of the timeEducation and Experience:*

This role will oversee the implementation of best practices around digital design across the whole region and coordinate with the firm-wide team to develop and manage these best practices, strategizing with project teams and office leadership to disseminate Digital Design processes to ensure that design technology enhances our design and delivery experience. What You Will Do * Regional leader overseeing the use of new technology in the design, development and execution of all scales of interiors and base building with an emphasis on Building Information Modeling (BIM), Computation and Visualization. * Actively participate on Firmwide calls for Computational Design, Revit (BIM) Office Leaders, Creative Media and Design Resilience calls. * Lead the discussion with office leadership on how to invest in digital advancements and monitor an annual budget. * Meet regularly with Office and Regional leadership in Technical, Design, and Project Management. * Participate in business development, as needed, to bring the right opportunities from Digital Design to the client pitches. * Work with Legal & Risk Management to review contracts, provisions and other documents to address Digital Design within the project delivery. * Work with the regional team to develop content that is shared across the region and around the firm. * Manage the staffing of the Design Technology Team members. * Oversee the development of training and workshops within the region. * Direct R + D efforts within the region and maintain knowledge on trends in the industry via conferences, publications, and relationships with industry academic partners. Qualifications/Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent, with 10+ years of experience in design and/or construction practice preferred. Licensed professional preferred * Expert knowledge of, and proven practical background in, Autodesk Revit Architecture and related BIM software. * 5 years of experience in the project-specific, BIM workflow from start to finish. * Articulate communicator, able to convey Digital Design concepts to all levels of design and delivery leadership. * Relevant knowledge of design applications such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Visual Programming (Grasshopper/Dynamo), 3D Studio Max, V-Ray and/or other rendering platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. and how they work together. * Strong interest and/or previous experience presenting at conferences and events as a thought leader in digital design. * Experience managing and mentoring staff across multiple office locations.
