Job Scope:

The Field Application Scientist (FAS) opening is for Genscript's Life Sciences' Catalog Products division. The position requires onsite availability in Piscataway, New Jersey with the ability to travel 20%.

This role is a pivotal technical resource, offering expert advice and technical support to our clients across the United States. The role involves an array of responsibilities including product testing, implementation, training, onboarding, and ensuring exceptional service quality to our customers. You will need to quickly master our products/instruments to effectively provide front-line implementation, support, and training to end-users. In addition, you will need to collaborate closely with the sales team to conduct customer demonstrations and assist with product evaluations. FAS will lead and manage project implementations, directly interfacing with leaders at premier pharmaceutical companies and laboratories. This position offers a significant opportunity for growth and is ideal for individuals passionate about facilitating research through automation, while maintaining high quality standards in both academic and industry settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Customer Implementations: Oversee new customer onboarding including workflow definition, implementation, and training to ensure smooth go-lives.

• Product Presentation: Deliver presentations on company products and instruments with a strong foundation in scientific and technical knowledge.

• Support Infrastructure Development: Create and refine support processes, and develop documentation and training materials to enhance user experience.

• Application data generation: Work in the lab and with R&D team to generate application data and/or performing experiments for troubleshooting with customer.

• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Address and resolve technical issues, managing customer troubleshooting inquiries and complaints.

• Training and Demonstrations: Conduct comprehensive training sessions for customers, sales teams, and external distributors through engaging presentations and demonstrations.

• Feedback and Improvement: Analyze trends in support cases and provide feedback to production and R&D teams to facilitate product improvements.

• Field Technical Support: Accompany the sales team on trips to provide on-site technical support and deliver seminars and presentations.

• Sales and Marketing Support: Participate in various sales and marketing activities to promote GenScript products, including direct customer visits.

• Cross-functional Liaison: Serve as a key intermediary between customers, sales, production, and R&D teams on various projects, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

• Industry Engagement: Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and exhibitions, delivering presentations and assisting with the technical promotion of GenScript products.

Qualifications:

• Solid technical background, Ph.D. and laboratory experience in relevant life science technologies (molecular biology, protein purification, protein chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, etc.)

• Experience working with protein purification, plasmid DNA purification, and cloning, etc.

• Excellent problem solving, communication and presentation skills

• Customer-focused, proactive/action-oriented

• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment

• Quick learner

• Solid business sense is a plus

• Must have basic computer skills using most of the software tools for molecular biology/protein

• Ability to travel 20-30%
