    As a Field Application Engineer, you will engage with clients to create technical solutions while identifying and building new business using your engineering expertise.

  • What You'll Be Doing *

  • Responsible for utilizing an advanced understanding of the customer needs and technical leadership expertise to champion return on engineering investment.

  • Participate as technical lead on large, complex customer engagements involving broad, system solutions and identify and drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs.

  • Partner with the sales team across pre-and post-sales activities, providing advanced technical support and consulting to promote demand creation. Champion return on engineering investment, design win priorities, initiatives, and promotions by obtaining buy-in and support from sales. Provide technical leadership to the branch, customers, and suppliers shaping strategy and guiding technical direction/priorities.

  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of supplier technologies and how those technologies relate to market needs, including vertical segmentation. Position Arrow's differential value proposition, supplier technologies, as well as, competitor technologies. Possess a complete knowledge of products and full knowledge of entire scope of assigned lines. Has sound product knowledge of Arrow's line card. Attend supplier trainings.

  • Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing relationships with senior level decision makers, keeping stakeholders up-to-date on activities, plans, and progressing towards initiatives. Deepen and broaden connections with key decision makers within suppliers and customers.

  • Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings and QBR. Use ROI concepts for making strategic business plans and decisions. Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solutions. Successfully create, organize and conduct engineering customer events or conference or engineering training. Support design services initiatives.

  • What We're Looking For*

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related degree and 2+ years of related work experience.

  • Hardware/System Design experience and/or electromechanical experience

  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience

  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions

  • Works independently; receives minimal guidance

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes

  • Often leads the work of project teams; may formally train junior staff

  • PCB assembly design and/or Embedded Development experience desired.

  • Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:*

$135,000.00 - $165,000.00Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.

Individual must be a Resident within a 50 mile radius of Lake Mary or willing to relocate. This is a Direct Hire opportunity for a US Citizen or Permanent Resident with Green Card, ONLY. Purpose This position is mainly responsible to develop an electrical system application engineering design to support new project bidding of gas turbine, steam turbine and generator auxiliary packages through selection and integration of AC and DC low voltage power distribution and Electrical and Control Package house for power generation plant to be newly constructed in the Americas. Main Duties * Interpret and incorporate codes and standards requirements applicable to the proposal projects in Americas * Interpret and incorporate customer's Request For Proposal (RFP) specification * Identify the special design to be incorporated in the proposal and study the cost deviation and technical impact * Interface with purchasing and vendors to obtain the budgetary quote and supplier's preliminary design information for proposal purpose. * Prepare the proposal specific design and cost summary of electrical system and provide the information to Proposal Lead and Estimation * Develop internal planning document that shows the technical summary of the electrical system and electrical package for proposals * Develop time sensitive technical proposal documents including single line diagram, Electrical Control Package outline and its foundation outline, electrical system description, electrical load list, division of responsibility, bill of materials, Exception & Clarification sheet etc. * Develop and maintain the standard proposal documents per process/mechanical/ design improvement or lesson and learn feedback from project execution information * Develop improved design of electrical system for cost, constructability and reliability advantage * Interpret and respond to technical inquiries from customer for proposal projects. * Interpret and integrate design requirements from parent company. * Develop processes and procedures that will ensure an effective and optimized use of resources while providing high quality design packages. * Provide regular status updates to management * Meet Schedule requirements for application engineering deliverables to ensure bidding schedules are met * Interface with domestic and international client/partner and parent and affiliated companies in periodical meeting or conference call. * Protect Company confidential information by not communicating, disclosing, or using for benefit of third parties and maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times. * Lead junior engineers * Travel may be required for this job from time to time Alphanumeric Systems Lake Mary FL
