Overview

Serve as primary accounting contact over an assigned group of markets. Provides accounting support for new operators in the understanding of all financial reports. Develops financial analysis and summaries for new operators during the first 90 days of operation. Supports market managers with training and unresolved issues.

Responsibilities

  • Review all aspects of accounting reports for new operators.

  • Analyze financial reports and prepares financial summaries for new operators and Field Consultants. Conduct teleconference or face to face meetings on a monthly basis, reviewing results.

  • Works with Zone Leaders, Market Managers and Field Consultants to resolve issues.

  • Works with all aspects of 7-Eleven team to resolve issues.

  • Requires good verbal and written skills to interact with all levels of the company.

  • Public speaking and good presentation skills are necessary to train Franchisees, market personnel, present new systems and attend assorted meetings as requested by Zone Leaders.

  • Works with other departments on designing and implementing new systems.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: 3-5, Accounting, preferably in a Retail or other multi-unit environment.

  • Strong public speaking skills.

  • Strong leadership skills and cross-functional relationship-building abilities at all levels.

  • Strong technical accounting background, including General Ledger Accounting, reconciliations, excel analysis, strong Microsoft Office knowledge.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to understand and appropriately respond to a variety of business process issues.

  • Ability and interest in systems and accounting processes; detail oriented with a big-picture outlook

We are seeking a talented individual to provide overall general tax support. Actively involved in providing technical and transactional support related to the timely completing and filing of all tax compliance obligations, SEC and other financial reporting of tax obligations, and departmental/enterprise tax risk mitigation and planning. Ensures tax accounting accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal SOX controls. Essential Responsibilities: * Research, calculate, pay, and review all tax compliance obligations. * Accurately and timely prepare income tax provisions utilizing Onesource Tax Provision (OTP) including accurate and timely reporting of taxes for SEC purposes including gathering, formatting and securely transmitting, receiving data, as needed (ASC 740), and related SOX controls. * Accurately & timely prepare income tax compliance utilizing Onesource Income Tax (OIT) including gathering, formatting and utilizing, as needed, all required information necessary for preparation of tax compliance. * Monitor and interpret tax law changes in order to maintain the Tax Department calendar of due dates for all tax types, including but not limited to income, sales/use, property, and gross receipts such that all filings are timely completed and filed. * Accurately maintain all tax fixed asset books. * Research and suggest responses to changes in tax law, regulations, and guidelines. * Prepare sales/use tax / business and occupational returns * Perform reconciliations between the general ledger and financial statements. * Provide ad hoc analytical, reporting, SOX and audit support. * Adhoc projects as requested. Work Conditions and Physical Demands: * Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment * Ability to communicate and exchange information * Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data * Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.) * Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals * May be required to work extended hours for special business needs * May be required to travel at least 10% of time based on business needs Minimum Education: * The knowledge typically acquired during the course of attaining a Bachelor's degree in Accounting field is required. A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of a degree. Master's degree preferred.
