Fiber Tech I-3
Constructs new and rebuilds aerial hardware including strand placement, tensioning, grounding, bonding, guy and anchor installation.
Assures grounds are at or below maximum allowable resistance for proper network protection. Responsible for maintaining proper spacing from energized conductors as well as height requirements as prescribed in the GO05, GO198, NESC, NEC, utility and Cox construction specifications.
Repairs and maintains overhead and underground lines.
Responds to and determines proper course of action in emergency call-in situations to repair damaged cable lines.
Replaces or reroutes cables and splices electronic equipment.
Participates in the construction and /or repair of fiber, coax, and copper plant for networks.
May coordinate and inspect work done by contract labor.
Performs routine work to locate and mark underground cable lines in order to perform digs and other construction work to minimize cable damages.
Inspects for location of placement of facilities, work of contract labor, depth trenches and follows underground construction standards.
Marks placement of cable plant.
Coordinates contract labor for construction projects and inspects final work.
Uses computerized tools and programs (Oracle) to coordinate bill of materials, purchase materials, maintain inventory levels, reconciles invoices, street release forms, zone changes, as well as computerized mapping systems.
Ensures that work performed in a timely and professional manner and meets all regulations, specifications and standards set forth by the company and government agencies.
May splice, repair, and activate fiber optic circuits and implement corrective and preventive action. May assist with the maintenance of fiber transport system, nodes and reverse laser transmitters and receivers.
May enter data into computerized databases to track homes passed, maintain serviceability information, or node splits.
May obtain construction permits, utility permits and pole applications including make-ready, right-of-way, railroad, road bore and crossing permits. Create and file traffics plans for construction projects.


Fiber Tech II
All duties of level I
Troubleshoots and analyzes system fiber utilizing CWDM technology


Fiber Tech III
All duties of levels I & II Including CWDM and DWDM technology
Plans workload scheduling for lower level employees
Meets with CB entities to coordinate customer fiber needs
Independently plans fiber network capacity
May generate tickets to SOC for network events utilizing enterprise established tools and software
There will be on-call responsibility later into the assignment.

Requirements:2+ Fiber splicing experience
Self-Starter willing to work in team setting
Microsoft Office/Excel
Need to have own splicing equipment and bucket truck; test equipment

Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Essential Responsibilities: * Be able to sketch out blueprints and interpretations to ensure proper fit and finish to parts * Be skilled at identifying, measure and correct appropriate surface finishes * Use appropriate tools to deburr, sketch parts and setup program * Be able to set basic off-sets, efficient at probes for off-set and ability to write simple probing routines * Operate lathe and 3 & 5-axis milling machines * Construct complex machine "G" codes and identify crash moves * Construct touch off points, set tool lengths and use pre-setter * Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and process related problems * Be able to rework damaged parts work under general supervision * Identify, adhere and train others on all HSE policies and practices without prompting * Ability to perform all functions of the position semi-independently with very little Supervisory oversight * Expert in the practice of using precision measurement tools and identifying the appropriate tools needed including the setup gauge maker. Qualifications/Requirements: * High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited school or institution * Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC machining and/or a Machining Certificate from accredited Vo Tech school * Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required * Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities * Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required * Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. * Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time * Handle heavy parts and moving parts * Stand for long periods of time, as required * Work inside and outside, as required Desired Characteristics: * Master Machinist or tool and die experience * Fanuc and Siemens controls a plus * Minimum 3 axis experience desired * Machining Certificate from accredited Vo Tech school * Programming experience * Knowledge of tool and die * Supervisory or Lead experience * Basic computer skills * Excellent record of attendance with little or no history of infractions * Adept verbal and written communication skills * History of compliance to company policies and procedures * Experience and practice in submitting Concern Cards for Safety concerns * Basic knowledge of and practice of 5S * Knowledge of Lean Methods and practice and be expected to lead and drive a Lean Project * Proficient of the tools and procedures needed for change management * Expert knowledge of machining terminology Locations: Shawnee, OK Baker Hughes, a GE company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
