Fiber Optic Test Engineer

Overview and Essential Functions Professional Teleconcepts, LLC is hiring a Fiber Optic Tester & Fiber Characterization Specialist. This person should be able to perform additions and removals of common telecom equipment and basic telecom hardware associated with the fiber optic network, including by not limited to distribution panels, modules, cards and protection duct.

Fiber Optic Testers should also be able to add and remove fiber optic cable and connections on non-working equipment without supervision using proper routing and protection methods. In addition, Fiber Optic testers should be qualified to lead fiber optic cleaning, scoping and Optical Loss / Power , OTDR, PMD and CD Testing. This role will involve 100% travel across the country.

What you'll do… Install new and existing fiber optic wiring per company guidelines Install and configure all equipment. Troubleshoot and repair service lines during service calls. Install telephone wiring.

Set up and deliver high speed Internet demonstrating quality connections. Greet & treat customers with respect. Review all requested services with the customer.

Interact with customers in a professional, courteous manner at all times. Provide customer product education. Communicate with the supervisor and dispatch regarding work status.
