Decisive Communications is a turn-key, solution based organization providing a full suite of services for the telecommunications industry. We are currently in need of a Fiber Optics Manager in McKeesport, PA. The Fiber Optics Manager will coordinate and supervise all Fiber Optics activity in the Pennsylvania market.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of Fiber Technicians.

  • Staff Development - Training and Refinement.

  • Manage and Coordinate general Fiber Optic Splicing activity.

  • Develop Plan for Head End/OTN "cut overs' OCEF and Patch Panel installations, includes replacements, facility collapses and replacement of patch panels.

  • Verification of FTTx Designs for accuracy.

  • Coordinate Metro-E Activities (Circuit Verification, Splicing, Turn Up, Documentation).

  • CWDM to DWDM Conversions.

  • Outage Support, Troubleshooting and Restoration.

  • Management and maintenance of all related equipment; Trucks, trailers, generators, fusion splicers, OTDR's, etc.

  • Assist Construction Managers with Project Planning and Development

  • Facilitate project scheduling and work assignments.

  • Maintain Activity Calendar

  • Complete and approve necessary paperwork for customer invoicing.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in OSP and ISP splicing scenarios.

  • Experience in OSP|INSIGHT Fiber Optic Management Software.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Applications

  • Five Plus years of Experience in Fiber Optic Network Splicing/Design/Management/Maintenance

  • Ability to develop fiber designs, critique and alter issued designs as necessary.

  • Ability to interact with peers and senior staff in a productive and professional manner.

  • Strong Management and Supervisory Skills

  • Strong Organizational Skills

  • Ability to positively interact with customers field and management personnel.

  • Ability to adhere to and enforce company policies.

  • The desire to work hours necessary to assist in outage repairs.

  • Drive to meeting locations and field sites when necessary

  • Ability to walk, sit, squat, reach above their head

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

  • Ability to handle and climb a 28 ft. fiberglass ladder

  • Must pass a background check and drug screen

  • Valid driver's license required

Education

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
