Under the supervision of the Interdisciplinary Team, is responsible for conducting the assessment and treatment protocols of children with feeding problems. Serves as the primary feeder of the child.
Collects data on the child's mealtime behaviors and oral-motor skills and caretaker integrity. Acts as the liaison between the child's caretakers and Interdisciplinary Team.
Provides data management for pediatric patients with feeding difficulties,. Creates and implements sessions activities for pediatric patients with feeding difficulties under the supervision of the interdisciplinary team Maintains up-to-date protocols, progress notes and discharge summaries Implements the feeding intervention recommended supervised by the interdisciplinary team for pediatric patients with feeding difficulties Acts as a liaison between the parent, school personnel and members of the interdisciplinary team. Educates and Trains parents/guardians of pediatric patients on feeding intervention under the supervision and direction of the interdisciplinary team members.
Communicates in an effective and timely manner with other staff and Interdisciplinary team members. Participates in staff and program development and departmental meetings; implements changes accordingly Retrieval, preparation and disposal of food items for pediatric patients with feeding difficulties. Meets all required competencies for department, unit and/or hospital.
Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned. Special Projects
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Nutrition, Special Education and/or three years of pediatric feeding experience. Requires analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment, attention to detail and problem resolution. Must possess strong customer service, communication, organizational & interpersonal skills.
