Primary Responsibility:

The Feeder Packer is responsible for feeding and packing blanks, hand packing, and sorting cartons. They will check for quality defects, including product contamination, and notify the Operator or Supervisor of any quality issues during their duties.

What You'll Do:

• Blanks Handling: Remove blanks from a pallet, check product quality, and place them into the feed hopper of the gluing machine, maintaining the hopper at proper load heights.

• Machine Monitoring: Observe the blanks flowing through the machine to identify quality issues, detect jam-ups, and alert the Operator of problems or stop the machine if necessary.

• Blank Replenishment: Communicate with the Operator to ensure an adequate supply of blanks in the hopper, ensuring consistent and efficient run speeds.

• Carton Packing: Fill corrugated cases (boxes) with the proper case count by picking up the blanks and placing them uniformly into the case, ensuring a proper fit and notifying the Supervisor of any issues.

• Quality Control: Maintain quality standards by learning defective characteristics for products, sorting defective parts, and communicating with the Machine Operator, Supervisor, and Quality Control staff.

• Teamwork: Collaborate with the team to improve operations, reduce waste, maintain lean manufacturing goals, answer questions, and communicate with other staff as needed.

• Carton Packing: Pack cartons according to work order instructions by verifying counts, weighing cartons, and following job ticket and labeling instructions.

• Cross Training: Cross-train with different machines and work in multiple areas as business needs arise.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Stable and dependable work history.

Commitment and Availability:

Regular attendance and punctuality are fundamental requirements. You must also be available for overtime work when necessary.
