Iron Recovery and Wellness Center has been providing valuable Substance Use Disorder and Behavioral Health treatment services since 1987. Our Mission: To save lives from the devastation of addiction. IRWC offers various pathways to recovery from substance use disorder and Behavioral Health utilizing three distinct programs. Opioid Treatment Program provides medication assisted treatment with methadone being the most utilized mediation followed by buprenorphine (Suboxone). Utilization of medication is adjunct to psychotherapy provided to our clients by our clinical staff at various levels of care e.g. Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and General Outpatient (GOP). We are also licensed for Behavioral Health outpatient. All of our clients have access to psychiatric and medical services/consultation along with appropriate medication management.

Iron Recovery and Wellness is seeking a Fee for Service Clinician. Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services or other managers, the Fee for Service Clinician is responsible for the direct provision of therapeutic services including individual, couples, and family therapy.

Main duties of the job:

  • Maintains up-to-date clinical records and treatment plans reflecting activity with all assigned clients.

  • Intervenes when consumers are not fulfilling their financial responsibilities for payment by addressing balances directly with consumers and supporting collection efforts by billing staff.

  • Ensures that consumers are connected with other agencies that might provide beneficial support.

  • Keeps apprised of new theories, therapy techniques and interventions that might benefit consumers.

  • The Alcohol and Drug Counselor shall be responsible for the clinical services and clinical documentation for assigned clients including the following:

  • Assessing the counseling needs of the clients;

  • Assessing clients using the ASI or other standardized clinical interview tool, and diagnosing clients for substance use disorder using the DSM-IV TR;

  • Determining the appropriate level of care according to ASAM Patient Placement Criteria (PPC2-R);

  • Obtaining previous records that are relevant to the current treatment episode;

  • Unless clinically contraindicated, collaborating with the client to develop a written treatment plan that includes goals and measurable objectives, and is client centered, recovery oriented;

  • Providing the substance abuse counseling services specified in the client treatment plan;

  • Reviewing clients throughout the treatment episode according to the ASAM PPC2-R, to determine the need for continued services, transfer, or discharge/transfer;

  • Reviewing and, where necessary, revising the client treatment plan to address ongoing problems;

  • Developing a client discharge/transfer plan to ensure movement to the appropriate levels of care;

  • Contact, case consultation if necessary, and coordination with referral sources, (for example, mental health treatment providers, criminal justice agencies, schools, employers, DYFS);

  • Participating as a member of a multidisciplinary team for assigned clients;

  • Providing active case consultation; and

  • Documenting all counseling and education services, assessments, reassessments, referrals and follow-up in the client's clinical record, and providing appropriate signatures and dating of such entries, including those made in electronic records.

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Licensure is required for persons with a Social Work degree (MSW). Clinical mental health or substance abuse licensure is preferred (LCADC, LPC, LCSW). Seeking candidates licensed in both New Jersey and Delaware.

  • Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related discipline. Three years of experience in the mental health or substance abuse treatment field is preferred.

  • Specific job knowledge entails comfort with problems associated with psychiatric care, knowledge of the DSM 5 and psychotropic medications

  • Knowledge of prevention and treatment/recovery techniques preferred.

  • Knowledge of resources and programs related to drug use prevention and treatment preferred.

  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation

  • Ability to write and submit grants to support the organization's objectives.

  • Proven ability to develop and sustain a team-based, collaborative culture with a service focus.

  • Ability to provide uncompromising, excellent customer service for clients.

  • Ability to positively interact and develop rapport with clients and their families, team members, support staff and community agency.

  • Able to act as a role model, demonstrating appropriate problem-solving skills and stress-management skills.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Good judgment and integrity.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Computer knowledge of MS Office, and other HR applications is a plus, not required.

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be proactive, organized, and possess great follow-up skills.

  • Must have the skill/ability to collaborate, partner with, and provide exceptional customer support to a variety of affiliate partners within the organization.

  • Ability to deal with diverse populations

  • Ability to stay within boundaries of the role and function of position
