POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and/or full certification as an addictions counselor.

  • Two years of clinical experience (minimum of 3,640 hours) in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.

  • If a person's experience was not in a drug and alcohol setting, the individual's written training plan shall specifically address a plan to achieve counseling competency in chemical dependency issues.


Merakey is currently seeking an Fee For Service Addictions Counselor to join our Adult Behavioral Health Site Based, Outpatient Program at Merakey Parkside Recovery Site in Germantown: at 5429 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19144

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide individual, group and family psychotherapy to clients with substance abuse problems in Outpatient Drug Free and Opioid Treatment Program settings.

  • Responsible for completing paperwork as required for case records.
