A Junior Accounting and Reporting Analyst who will support the AFS General Accounting function within the Controllership organization. You are responsible for performing various intercompany and general ledger activities.
Prepare cost transfer entries and related account reconciliations and analysis and resolve any discrepancies
Participate in monthly consolidated close, including extended work hours during close to meet deadlines
Prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP
Document and monitor internal controls
Communicate with cross-functional teams within AFS and Accenture to perform operational accounting duties
Ensure compliance with AFS policies, US GAAP, and Federal cost compliance rules.
Prepare ad-hoc reporting and assist with special projects, as required
Here's what you need:
Must be a US Citizen
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Strong Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot Tables)
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Work, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Bonus points if you have:
Experience with Accounting systems
Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to communicate with employees at all levels (written and verbal)
Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills
Willingness to learn new skills and embrace changes in business operations
An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
