Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid teacher license

  • Bilingual in a second language that is predominate to the district preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written with parents, schools, community stakeholders, and district office personnel.

  • Proficient technology skills using word procession: Microsoft Word, Excel, Pages, PowerPoint, etc.

Reports To: Director of Federal Programs

Basic Duties: To work closely with Title I and ESL Federal Programs to provide support for teachers, parents, and principals to increase the level of parent and family engagement throughout the district to support the academic success of all students. To design supplemental activities to equip families with the knowledge, skills, and resources to support learning outside of the classroom.

Specific Duties:

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct the Federal Programs "Parent & Family Engagement" activities at the district level.

  • Design supplemental activities, workshops, and trainings to support student achievement and to address academic gaps identified by both the district and school-level data.

  • Maintain federal records and documentation for compliance purposes

  • Assist with the planning and execution of parent and family engagement activities at the school level.

  • Conduct parent and family engagement meetings in each community to focus on literacy and to equip parents to assist with their child's educational needs.

  • Be knowledgeable of community agencies and district personnel to refer parents whose child has educational needs

  • Plan and work collaboratively with other programs in the district to offer services to students and families as it relates to Federal Programs.

  • Supervise supplemental programs such as ReadyRosie, Rosette Stone, etc. for Federal Programs as directed.

  • Establish and facilitate the Parent Advisory Committee for Federal Programs.

  • Provide parent and families with supplemental learning packets/resources to address academic needs.

  • Provide professional development to school office personnel to assist with cultural awareness to strengthen communication with ESL parents.

  • Provide resources and materials to address transitions from early learning to school, from elementary to middle school, from middle school to high school, and from high school to post-secondary.

  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by supervisor.
