This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Florida Women's Reception Center in the Food Service Department.

Salary Rate: $908.00 biweekly

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for daily meal preparation including production and meal service to the inmate population. This includes interpreting and complying with OSHA and related health and food service standards.

  • Handles raw and cooked food in accordance with sanitation standards

  • Supervises the inmate food service worker in food production, preparation, kitchen sanitation, etc.

  • Ensures preparation of meals in accordance with the Department's master menu manual and master menu recipes.

  • Acts as the food service weekend manager on duty as necessary.

  • Maintains professional food service management certification.

  • Responsible for the accurate completion and maintenance of production, training and other required documentation.

  • Ability to collect, record and evaluate data relating to the training of individuals.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain records and other instructional materials.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain production logs and other required documentation.

  • Ability to multi-task, managing several areas of food service operations at the same time with different inmate workers assigned to different areas and tasks.

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to all areas of food service operations.

  • Upon completion of training, ability to complete work assignments without constant direct supervision.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One (1) year experience in correctional food service experience.

Salary Range: $19,966.44 - $34,370.10 annually SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Prepares correspondence, memorandums, and assists/performs clerical duties for the Classification Department. * Completes clerical duties within the Inmate Records area as assigned by the Correctional Sentence Specialist. This may include completing Support Staff audits on newly received inmates, maintenance and accountability of inmate files, and preparing forms and documents for the Inmate Records area. * Inputs data into the CDC data base system and retrieves and prints requested information. * Receives, date stamps and sorts mail for the Classification Department. * Ensures all mail is promptly distributed to the appropriate staff. * Copies, scans, and faxes documents using the appropriate equipment. * Types forms and prepares inmates files for transfer. * Provides clerical assistance and support with Special Projects assigned to the Classification Department. * Answers telephone calls professionally and provides customer service to include assisting inmate families. * Promptly forwards or takes information for telephone inquiries to be completed by other Classification Staff. * Provides any requested clerical duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor. * Support file audits on newly arriving inmates. * Sorting filing materials and placing documents into the inmate file. * Typing forms and obtaining and preparing inmate files for transfer. * Typing correspondence, letters, memorandums and forms for the Classification Staff. * Preparing information for posting to the Inmate Population. * Organizing and maintaining files on Classification documentation. * Answering phones and providing assistance to callers. * Assisting and preparing clerical documents for Special Projects. * Sorts and stamps daily Classification mail. * Conduct computer runs for various reports for staff. * Enters information into a data base consisting of external and internal movement of inmates, job and housing assignments, classification team assignments, re-classification score sheets and disciplinary reports.
