Jacobs is NASA's largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States. We have an exciting opportunity for a Fault Management Systems Engineer to join the team. We are actively searching for qualified candidates for this potential opening; however, we do not have assurance at this time when the position will be finalized and opened.

Because we have strong reason to believe the position will be approved soon, we are proceeding with identifying qualified candidates and conducting interviews. The Fault Management Systems Engineer will: Understands complex systems, including failure modes and interfaces Able to apply model-based systems engineering best practices to developing models of systems Experienced with FMEAs, FMECAs, fault trees, or other fault management design and analysis tools Some software experience Perform other duties as required Here's what you'll need:

Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Experience with SysML, UML, or other formal system modeling techniques Experience with modeling complex cyber-physical systems Experience with one or more of the following: Risk assessments Fault/failure analysis Redundancy and fault tolerance System health management techniques, prognosis, or fault management frameworks or technologies Strong dynamics background Experience with mechanical and electrical systems Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude Requisition Preferences:

Essential Functions Work Environment Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
