The software engineering group in FAST labs is seeking a Software Engineering Manager. You will be an active member of the Software Engineering leadership team, shaping the culture and process while ensuring the staffing and technical needs of the business are met.

You will work with our programs using your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions meet and exceed customer expectations. You'll manage a group of 7 to 15 software engineers, providing them with technical mentoring, career guidance and performance feedback. You'll work closely with other product area leads in helping to set the technical direction for our products.

Technical roles will include architecture and design reviews, strategic initiative implementation, bid and proposal development, next generation solution planning and other areas of engagement that align with your skills and career aspirations.

Qualified candidates should possess knowledge of software architectures, software industry best practices, and emerging software technologies.

This position will be based out of our Merrimack, NH. Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, a full-time on-site work format is strongly preferred. A hybrid work format, with >50% time on-site may be an option.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active Secret DoD clearance required with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

  • BS degree in a STEM field and 10+ years work experience or equivalent experience in the development of complex software intensive systems

  • Experience in leading software teams in either a functional and/or technical role

  • Demonstrated ability to guide individuals through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally

  • Experience presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active TS clearance is preferred

  • Embedded software design and implementation

  • Software Defined Radios, Communication protocols, encryption, Digital Signal Processing

  • Foundational knowledge with DevSecOps

  • Deep knowledge in one or more of the following languages C++, Rust, C

  • Model Based Engineering methods and tools

  • Cost Account Management/Earned Value Management

  • Cloud Native Technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Helm

  • Involvement with open standards such as the Software Communications Architecture (SCA), Open Mission Systems (OMS), Big Iron, Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE), Vehicle Integration for C4ISR/EW Interoperability (VICTORY), C4ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) and Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA).

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
