Technology Group Leads are Technology Development Managers (TDM) who own a portion of a product line's strategic plan by capturing and executing sponsored research programs. As the Platform Cyber Resilience Tech Group Lead, you lead the capture and execution of research and development projects creating novel technologies increasing the cyber resilience of DoD weapon systems. You interact with various BAE Systems business areas to take these research efforts and transition them into real-world systems. The TDM report to the Cyber Operations Tech Area Director and this position is based in our Burlington, MA facility.
Responsibilities include:
Focused on the new business development process, especially with novel and innovative ideas to increase weapon system cyber resilience
Lead and shape captures and proposals, developing a strategy to expand our existing technology baseline in alignment with the Platform Cyber Resilience strategy and vision
Have significant customer interaction, initiating customer contact to create new business opportunities at DoD research and development organizations such as DARPA, AFRL, ONR, ARL as well as non-traditional R&D organizations.
Collaborate across the larger organization to facilitate the development and transition of game-changing technology
Mentor and grow junior technology development managers and scientists
Guides teams in executing complex research plans regularly involving multiple technical fields
Lead programs as a principal investigator
Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status and eligibility to obtain a US security clearance.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Required Education: Bachelor's Degree with 15+ year of professional research experience, Master's Degree with 13+ years of professional experience, or Doctorate with 10+ years of professional experience
Required Skills:
Proven experience leading complex program execution
New R&D business capture experience
Proven experience in leading and developing cyber-resilient systems
Understanding of weapon system cyber susceptibilities
Experience as a Principal Investigator for R&D programs
Required Clearance: Secret with the ability to obtain Top SecretPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred skills:
Technology road map development
Experience with commercializing software products
External communications experience (press interviews, published papers, Conference presentations)
Leadership role in professional societies
Large R&D proposal capture expertise
Proven experience leading medium ($10M+) R&D programs
