Job Summary

Conduct inventory of tools, equipment, or materials. Place orders for plants, new and replacement equipment, or supplies, staying within budget.

Record water usages from pumps and wells. Perform minor repairs to structures using hand and power tools. Mix, prepare, and apply chemical solutions to control pests, weeds, or plant disease.

Keep records of fertilizer and pesticide applications. Install, maintain, and operate irrigation systems. Operate tractors, trucks, or utility vehicles to transport equipment and supplies. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model.

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.

Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect. Support team to reach common goals.

Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.

Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e. g., to identify defects). Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps.

Move up and down a ladder. Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Removal of snow and maintenance of ice management (if applicable). Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.

Speak with others using clear and professional language. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Visit our website at http://www.azdhs.gov Security Officer Supervisor Arizona State Hospital - 501 N. 24th St., Phoenix, AZ 85008 The Arizona State Hospital (ASH) is located on a 93 acre campus at 24th Street and Van Buren, in Phoenix, Arizona. ASH provides long-term inpatient psychiatric care to Arizonans with mental illnesses that are under court order for treatment. ASH protects the rights and privileges of each patient, including the patients' rights to confidentiality and privacy. Treatment at ASH is considered "the highest and most restrictive" level of care in the state. Patients are admitted as a result of an inability to be treated in a community facility or due to their legal status. Hospital personnel provide state-of-the-art inpatient psychiatric care and are committed to treating patients and personnel with dignity and respect. Interdisciplinary care is delivered in collaboration with the patient, family, legal representatives and community providers with a focus on recovery and community reintegration. Job Summary This position serves as Supervisor-in-Charge of ASH Security Officer 1s, grade 15 and ASH Security Officer 2s, grade 17, and the Operator/Dispatch, grade 13. Responsible for up to 15 employees during any given work shift. Duties include scheduling and assigning security staff to provide sufficient coverage to maintain ten (10) safety and service posts which supports the campus and provides safety to staff, patients and visitors alike; inspecting all areas of the Hospital for safety compliance; interacts with and provides pertinent information with/to local law enforcement agencies; works with hospital management personnel supporting and/or guiding them in a variety of security and safety related protocols and procedures All Arizona State employees operate within the Arizona Management System (AMS), an intentional, results-driven approach for doing the work of state government whereby every employee reflects on performance, reduces waste, and commits to continuous improvement with sustainable progress. Through AMS, every state employee seeks to understand customer needs, identify problems, improve processes, and measure results. State employees are highly engaged, collaborative and embrace a culture of public service. Responsibilities include: – Performing supervisor duties, assigns staff to provide and maintain coverage often assigned posts which support the ASH and ACPTC, provides safety to staff, patients and visitors alike for designated shift. Supervises security staff in any emergency response service department is required to support, acts as a resource when appropriate. – Participating in staff development; involved in staff corrective actions; interviews applicants, makes hiring recommendations; evaluates staff, prepare and submit reports; approves or disapproves leave requests; administers performance reviews; and recommends corrective action. Interprets rules and regulations, policies, procedures and protocols for to security staff to ensure their understanding and compliance. – Interacting with hospital staff, patients and residents, providing sub-professional counseling and crisis intervention as required; refers incidents to appropriate care and treatment team, writes and submits appropriate related reports as necessary, confers with appropriate management teams; advocates that security staff assist nursing staff and the hospital in maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients/residents. – Reviewing and assisting department manager in writing related administrative guidelines, protocols and duty station procedures. Confers with the Security Chief and/or other managers in helping to resolve employee, patient, resident or visitor relationships; assists in problem solving and decision making.
