We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Custom Applicator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying various agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, and other products to crops using specialized equipment. You will work closely with the farm operations team to ensure the proper application of products, optimize crop yields, and maintain high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain custom application equipment, including sprayers, spreaders, and other machinery used for applying fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.
  • Accurately measure, mix, and apply chemicals and fertilizers according to field requirements and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor and adjust application equipment to ensure proper coverage, rates, and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed to ensure safe and effective operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of product usage, application rates, and any maintenance performed on equipment.
  • Collaborate with farmers and agronomy staff to develop and implement custom application plans tailored to specific crop needs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations when handling and applying agricultural products.
  • Ensure proper cleaning, storage, and disposal of chemicals and equipment, adhering to all local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with farm management and clients to provide updates on application progress and any concerns.
  • Provide recommendations based on field conditions, crop health, and product effectiveness to maximize production and minimize environmental impact.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Agricultural degree or certification preferred).
  • Proven experience in custom application, agricultural equipment operation, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other agricultural chemicals.
  • Ability to operate and maintain complex machinery, including GPS-guided application systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends, during peak seasons.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Valid driver’s license; commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required, depending on the equipment operated.
