Under the direction of the FamilySearch Research Wiki Team, the primary focus of the Intern employee is to assist in the creation and management of genealogy content projects for the Research Wiki. This includes the management of both content and directing the work of the volunteers and missionaries involved.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage genealogical projects on the Wiki

  • Train missionaries on individual and group projects

  • Update, restructure and fix Wiki pages

Qualifications

  • Intermediate to advanced genealogical experience

  • Experience with FamilySearch.org

  • Strong online communication skills

  • Basic understanding of editing and wikitext on Research Wiki

  • Problem solving skills to update, restructure, and fix Research Wiki pages

  • Attention to detail and ability to audit content for compliance to templates and style guides

  • Strong computer skills including experience using Microsoft products and Google docs/sheets

  • Interpersonal communication skills with team members and volunteers/missionaries using virtual meetings and Yammer

  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills

  • Knowledge of foreign language a plus

  • To qualify for a paid internship, you must be enrolled in an educational institution or have enrolled in a degree program within the previous 12 months.

Worthiness Qualification

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
