The Family Support Specialist will focus on the family while addressing the needs of the individual children and adults in order to improve overall functionality, ensure family participation in the planning of services and work toward building the strengths and abilities of families. Family Support Specialists will assist children and youth in maintaining positive connections to their families; reflect, respect and respond to the cultural and linguistic strengths and needs of the child and family; and foster the integrity of the family unity whenever possible and consistent with the Department of Social Services permanent plan, without compromising the safety of its members.


Ensure linguistic and culturally competent services to families, children and adolescents, kinship networks and foster families.Develop parent's capacity to utilize formal and informal community supports to ensure the safety, health and well being of their children.Improve parenting skills relative to safety, supervision and nurturing.Complete extensive documentation in a professional manner through the use of an electronic record to be utilized by social workers, attorneys, court officials and others as deemed necessary. Stabilize children in foster care setting.Achieve established goals in a time sensitive manner.Assist linguistic/cultural minority families in accessing community resources and supports in order to reduce stress and factors which contribute to abuse and neglect and to also increase the family's self-reliance and independence.Provide individual, family and group outreach and medication services via home visits.Provide parent training for development of effective communication skills and nonviolent parenting methods.Provide advocacy on a variety of issues, which may include educational, legal and accessing community resources or specialized services.Provide ongoing education on addressing difficult topics facing families today, for instance, gangs, pregnancy prevention, STD's, HIV, and substance abuse.Transporting families/children when necessary.All other duties assigned by the supervisor, his/her superior or the designee of either party.


High School diploma

Bilingual preferred

Working knowledge of both community resources and children/parentingValid Driver's License, ability to drive and means of transportation

Travel to other cities and towns may be required

Our Residential Program is looking for a two Scheduling Support Specialist. This position assists in maintaining the division staffing function. Upholds focus on Premier services by providing oversight and making improvements in efficiency and effectiveness. Essential Functions: * Assists with the implementation of new and/or existing operating practices as identified and maintains those practices as identified by performing regularly scheduled system audits. * Assists in maintaining data on employee usage of sick, personal, vacation time, and overtime. * Assign relief staff to specific areas, maintain contact with relief to ensure the required number of shifts are being completed, assist with purging staff as needed, etc. * Assists with the coordination of Residential scheduling to assure best practices are maintained. This includes reviewing all completed schedules for compliance with allocated hours, completing schedules for sites when needed, and working collaboratively with all levels of Residential Management to assure adequate coverage is provided. * Attends all department meetings to keep current on all activities within the program as well as presents updates on vacancies, overtime, orientation, and any other areas related to scheduling. * Works in collaboration with the HR and Fiscal Departments to assure accurate FTE complement is attained, maintained, and filled with the appropriate staff. Reports should be generated to evaluate current practices and to establish trends with regard to staffing. * Suggests and presents for review potential new procedures to Divisional Director to assist in maintaining best practices and updating administrative policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines as needed; communicating new/updated procedures, methods and guidelines to Residential staff as directed by the Divisional Director. * Assists in maintaining scheduling software. Must import information as needed and keep the system live at all times. Must act as the liaison between Shiftboard and any other software that is utilized. * Work in conjunction with the Human Resources Department in areas of employment, strategies and job fairs. * Maintains rapport with all Residential staff, managers, and other Agency employees by utilizing and creating consistent communication protocols. * Assists in the creation and presentation of applicable trainings to staff members at all levels. * Reports and reacts accordingly to all non-compliant operating practices by effectively communicating with all parties in a professional manner. * Maintains continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating needed actions to management; discovering irregularities and determining/identifying continuing needs of the program. * Assists with assigned administrative projects by identifying and implementing new technology and resources where applicable in coordination with the IT Department. * Conduct interviews and site interviews as needed. * Provides on-call services as needed. Must work weekend days and holidays. * Must work at Residential sites, with the potential to be in ratio when needed. * Must carry an agency phone and be responsive during work hours. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * High School Diploma is required * Skill in organization, prioritization, and working independently. * Skill in communicating and working with others cooperatively. * Experience in a Residential Program preferred. * Must be in good standing in MAP, NVMAB, Human Rights, First Aid and CPR WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
