The Family Resource Unit Supervisor provides case consultation and clinical supervision to direct social service employees of lower grades; performs related administrative duties; performs related work as required.

Applicants must have (A) a Master's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education or criminal justice or a relevant human services degree and (B) a current and valid Licensures as a Licensed Social Work Associate, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Certified Social Worker or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration*, and (C) and three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in social work, or (D) or any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

  • Applicants at the Department of Children and Families must obtain the required license in Social Work within the first nine (9) months of employment.

The classification may require possession of a current and valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License at a class level specific to assignment.

Substitutions:

I. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required (C) experience.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Provide administrative/clerical support to a large number of professional staff. Duties may include the following: * Utilize Microsoft Office Applications - Word and Excel - with accuracy. * Perform accurate typing, word processing and data entry. * Maintain case archive process for the area office, filing, records management, archive submissions, and archive requests. * Track the data drive information used in case assignments and personnel management. * Perform Area Office closed records processing. * Serve as back-up receptionist as needed. Greet clients and visitors; answer telephone calls; refer clients and visitors to appropriate department staff when needed. * Provide administrative /clerical support and projects as assigned. * Provide routine information concerning agency office locations, programs and services. * Assist with processing mail and fax as necessary. * Maintain filing system. * Assist staff by entering information into the iFamilyNet system including iFamilyNet searches. * Assist social workers with Mass Health insurance claims. * Manage personal needs accounts on the area office level of Social Security and Title II payments * Assist in the support of Area Director as needed. * Other related duties as assigned. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel and Access,Family Net, etc. * Ability to effectively handle complaints presented or referred to the Director. * Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse populations * Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional demeanor in the public forum. * Ability to plan, organize and carry through on office events. * Ability to carry out work activities with a minimum of direction. * Ability to establish systems to improve overall performance of all clerical functions. * Ability to organize and maintain filing systems.
