Family Practice/Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Client seeks Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for contract assignment starting December 2-March 7 in their Forensic Unit at Psychiatric facility in Columbia, SC. Provider will work with a Psychiatrist and multidisciplinary team to treat medical needs of the adult patient population.

Duties will include seeing new admissions and acute episodic patients daily, attending Treatment Team meetings, maintaining monthly notes, completing annual exams, referring patients to specialists and following up on those appointments, and referring patients out to ER care when needed, Unit has 50 patients, not all of whom are seen daily. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break. Provider should have strong Primary Care skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and collaborate with team members to qualify for this position.
